Answer This Question
A: Thank you for posting your inquiry on DAP Weldwood Original Contact Cement. While DAP Weldwood Original Contact Cement can be used on concrete and similar masonry materials, due to the rough and porous/absorbent nature, multiple coats of the product would typically be required to develop a proper bonding film. Because you did not provide any background or other materials to be bonded, we cannot guarantee suitability. At your convenience, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477 so that we can obtain some additional information from you and so that we can provide you with a more definitive recommendation.

The rubber sole on my fursuit foot paw came off from its backing. I used this contact cement to put it back together. It’s been holding together fine so far even after a lot of walking on it.

Works Great First Time - Every Time
I don't always use rubber cement, but when I do I reach for DAP Weldwood. Applicator brush attached to the cap is very handy.
Used this to repair a 8 foot long, 20 foot tall ShadeDirect roller blind that rolled right off it's tube. After prepping and cleaning the surface of the metal tubing and the vinyl shade, applied a full 3oz bottle along the length of the tube and vinyl, pressed for about a minute or two and wrapped it up. Bonded in minutes, tested after 30min and it held on no issue

Been using it for years on EPDM (rubber roof systems). A little heavier bodied than an exclusive rubber roof adhesive but it still works well if you do a smaller area.

I have used contact cement on and off for many years. The first time was in high school shop where We were taught in shop class to use it to attach Formica to wood. The project I used it for this time was to apply some vinyl fabric to plywood and it is what was recomended by the vinyl retailer. I made a new bed cover out of plywood. It came out real well but it would be better if you had help because once the vinyl is applied you can move it. Anyway we are living in an age where there is a huge choice of adhesives on the market which is a good thing but for certain jobs good old fashioned contact cement can't be beat.

Grip pad cane off the base of my wife’s laptop. After some research on what adhesive to use I found this to be the only viable option. Works like a champ and no concerns over breakdown from heat or if I need to remove (for access to battery) in the future.

Worked well for my particular application. I needed to glue the toe-kick boards that go with the new, big-box kitchen cabinets we installed, into place. In our situation, the ceramic floor tile in the kitchen was installed after the original cabinets. So, when we pulled the originals and installed the new ones, the tile did not span all the way to base of the new cabinets, leaving a 1 1/2" gap. We furred out the new cabinets' toe-kicks with 2x4s cut to length and screwed into the base of the cabinets with deck screws. We then used this contact cement on both the 2x4s and toe-kick board's backs per instructions and pressed them into place. They're now secure with no visible means of attachment--a job well done.
