This is advertised as knee pads that are great for wood flooring, but due to the hard caps I would not use it on wood flooring for fear of scratching them up. I used this on a tile surface and on concrete in the basement. This is better suited for rough surfaces like concrete and probably subfloors. I used this while trying to light my furnace pilot and for this surface I had no complaints.The plastic caps on the tile created a very slippery situation and I found myself gliding/ shifting a lot on the tile. When I used this on the concrete , it worked well. With these knee pads just make sure you have them on the proper way otherwise they will not fit securely and keep sliding. Have the arc part up and the area that is flat on the bottom half.
All in all I would not recommend these knee pads, I feel that the situations in which you can use them are very limited. There are not too many surfaces I would use them on, like tiles and wood flooring. The plastic caps are stationary and cannot be removed.

I am 61 years old in 11 days. i have torchered my body for over 40 years!! Roofing, brick work, flooring, tile, base board and trim work, as well as buildinding decks! I never dreamed of wearing knee pads when i was young and dumb! By the time i was 40 years old my knees were shot!!
I strarted out wearing those soft pad ones like wrestlers wear. But they always bind, you have to stand readjust all the time. I then wore hard caps , but my knees hurt from them. So i used hard caps with padding, they worked ok.
Now i have these new gel hard caps. i had stopped doing things that i had to be on my knees, the last 6 years. So that cut into my income!! Now i can work again on my knees , thanks to these great knee pads.

Great product! Love the gel padding. Very well padded, but also very comfortable. With past knee pads, I always found them sliding down below the knees. This set of knee pads appears to have fixed that problem. The design is smart. There is a padded ridge that runs across the top of each knee pad. This ridged padding does a good job in holding the pads at the knees. The hard caps add additional protection. The straps are easy to use, durable, and grip tightly. Quality product.

These are the best knee pads I have seen. They are easy to put on, stay in place and are very comfortable.I'm am really happy with my choice. The straps are easy to fit and not be too tight. I've used other brands and these stay put and do not affect your mobility. The hard outer surface is great on any surface and makes spinning around very effortless.

My knee has been hyper-sensitive to touch. I have been doing low-work by laying on my side or bent over a box, but this is awkward too.
I put these on and gingerly knelt down. Ah! No horrible pinch of pain. The gel inside really does support over a wide area without pressure-points. I started walking on my knees, this was comfortable also.
Looks well made. Sturdy material.
One thing, which can be good or bad: The "hard caps" are very slick. Little friction. This makes it easy to swivel or slide around the work zone. It also will not scuff fine floors. On the other hand the slipperiness means your knees can slide out from under you. Keep your balance. Do not try these knee-pads on a roof!! Pick pads with some soft tread on them.

Comfortable, but not perfect for roofing.
The knee pads are fairly comfortable- at least as comfortable as you can be on your knees all day. However, the hard knee cap likes to slip on most roof surfaces. My old knee pads are much more likely to stay put when I"m kneeling on a roof.
I think these would be fine for most other kneeling work.
