Asked by OldHickory February 18, 2017If your using pre-made panels & attaching to 4x4's or 6's, NO! You need deeper grip (like 3") to keep panels in place or first strong blow job from Mother Nature (called a wind) will tear them off eventually.

Is this a good length to screw two 3/8" 5'x5' Baltic Birch plywood sections together?
Asked by Jo June 17, 2016Not unless your screws have to attach to another surface or bracing. I used #6 or #8 x 5/16" to screw the sheets together and if your ANAIL, like me, use more than I need at 6" intervals around the edge at 1/4" from the edge, yah I know, it isn't exactly 6" but close enough for government work. The inner area at 12" separation to keep sheets from bowing and if your really concerned about the center bowing, light amount of glue before you screw the sheets together. My ANAIL rating is quite that high. YET!

Asked by Boni July 13, 2017It doesn't look like the #8 1-1/4 is available in a larger package. Whenever I've needed a lot of 1-1/4", I've had to go to a different size or style (hex head) to get larger packages of screws. I hope this helps & good luck!
When screwing treated lumber together, What size drill should I use to pre-drill the hole?
