Every one of them was perfectly straight. The hex drive which came with the screws fit perfectly into the drive slot in the screw heads. The point is specifically designed to prevent cracking wood as it is started through, but I was very cautious and pre-drilled all my holes before screwing plywood to a frame. I've used screws like this before, and I can tell you without any doubt that the "star drive" works far better then any phillips drive.

This is a great product. I used to use Philip head screws and I hated them, they strip so easily! But ever since I started using these Deck Mate Star Flat-head screws I will never go back. They go in fast and easy without ever stripping. Making my job more efficient.
These Corrode

I used these screws and they corroded within six years and came out of my treated lumber deck boards. When I pulled them out they were rusted and the threads were gone.
Screws rot out right under the head.

Spent over $120 for all the deck mate screws I used on my deck project and after only 5 years they started to rot right under the head where there are no threads. They thin out in this area from rust and eventually the head pops out. Stay away from these screws and use stainless steel.
