Classically Redefined Rectangular Undermount Bathroom Sink in White

A:  I can see why that would be very confusing: poorly written. Ignore it. If you scroll back up to the "Product Overview" area and look to the right, you will see another group of menu items under "Info and Guides". Click on "Specifications" and it will bring up a graphic Spec Sheet that shows you where each dimension applies. The 17.5 inches refers to the WIDTH of the cutout, nothing more (with 11.5 inches being the actual DEPTH of the cutout, front to back). I don't know who was responsible for entering data into the Specifications, but it was done without any thought to its application, and definitely missed editing...

A:  I think they are saying that there need to be clearance under the sink of 17.5 inches. It seems about right since you'll still need drain space. I used these in a cabinet fitted with drawers and had about that much space between the countertop and first fully functioning drawer.

A:  The cutout depth (front to back) for the 1402-CWH is 11.5"

A:  Your assumption is correct - the sink is about 6.5" deep on the inside.

A:  Spec sheet (there are several .pdf's on the Home Depot page over to the right) says 6.3" - generally that's the depth of water before it goes out the overflow hole.

A:  Humorous that you ask this today - we're installing ours right now. Inside depth to absolute bottom (of sloped sink) is 6 5/6 inches

A:  five inches from the drain to the drain hole. Seven and a half inch from drain to top of sink.
