Q:is the chalk line string strong or weak

Answer This Question

A:  Well it depends on what you call strong or weak! It will not be strong enough to pull a car! Chalk line is meant to be pulled tight say about a 20 pound tension will be enough to have it snap a line. You want the string to be under tension so when you pull it away it will snap back. This will create the line which you can plainly see creating a good reference to mount things in a straight line. Also the hook on the end has a hole in it so you can hang it off of a screw an use the dispenser as a plumb bob to create a plumb line up an down with out using a level.

Red Handed
This Red Chalk line is great on the job site as long as you don't mind looking like you killed an elephant. You get more red chalk on you then you get on the project or the line. Its a good tool but it needs a seal or something to stop the red or blue chalk from coming out the bottom. My gloves looked like I washed them in blood after using the chalk line for a day on a deck project. You could see where I was on the deck by the amount of chalk that was spilled on the deck at different locations. I do like the red line as it is easy to see. The tool is basically a great tool if we get the leak stopped. Don't get caught using this tool Red Handed!!! Funny.
