What is the weight of this power tool

Dewalt says 8.1 lbs.

Does it have a safety button to prevent it from automatically turn on? Is blade easier to change than Milwaukee? Thanks.

No, there is no separate safety button. You pull the trigger switch and the saw starts. When the trigger is released, the spring-loaded switch turns the saw blade off. I would say that the saw can not automatically start if you just plug it in. You need to pull the switch firmly to use the saw. The switch would need to be faulty or someone would need to tamper with the switch to have the saw automatically start when plugged in. The trigger switch is a variable speed control; pull the trigger more and the saw speeds up. Don't know about blade changing on a similar Milwaukee saw. The blade on this Dewalt saw is easy to install but will take two hands. One hand to insert the blade and the other to pull the blade release lever back.

Is the blade typically “wobbly” after lock down? Brand new

Asked by Tom May 13, 2020

No, the blade should not be wobbly at the point where it is inserted properly and fully into the saw and then locked down with the locking lever. Depending on the thickness and type of blade you are using, the blade can be quite flexible at the far end of the blade but should fit tightly in the saw.

Does the saw come with a bag

As others noted, it does not come with a bag/case. I picked up a B&D 21" bag for $21 and it fits in there perfectly (no sharp bend to the power cord) with plenty of room for blades etc: https://www.homedepot.com/p/BLACK-DECKER-21-in-Wide-Mouth-Matrix-Tool-Bag-BDCMTSB/204340311 I will probably store my trim router and maybe some other small tools in there as well, since there is plenty of room.

This isy absolutely favorite tool! I use it for yard work as well as cutting fire wood. The chain saw scares me just a bit to use, bit I can control this much easier so I use it! Works great to cut back the oleander bushes!

The Dewalt reciprocating saw was an excellent saw. I used it with a Diablo 9” pruning blade and cut down a tree in the front yard. I also pruned another tree. I cut down and removed bushes. The Dewalt had plenty of power. Make sure to wear protective gear. For my needs, it was better than a chain saw. I didn’t have to deal with chainsaw oil. The 12-Amp had plenty of power. I also own the Dewalt 10-Amp reciprocating saw and I used it for demolition work. What sold me on Dewalt was the cutting blades can be mounted horizontally or vertically depending on your needs. You will not be disappointed with Dewalt.
