It just shoots 18 gauge finishing nails. Depending on the thickness of the deck boards, 18 gauge would not be a recommended fastener for that. Outdoor screws might be a better bet and are more commonly used in this application. Also, they are less likely to pop up and catch or cut children's feet.

Hello RJ2792, Using a brad nailer on oak trim can be used with lot's of care as it is hardwood and brittle. Please stay away from any 3/4" perimeter and nail 1/2" away from any knots, swirls or defects in the wood.

In my opinion, no. Although it can handle long brads, I don't think the are heavy enough for a fence. You should look in to a nail gun.
If your question is “is there a nailer that nails both 16 & 18 gauge then I would say no. I’ve never seen anything like that.
