Customer Reviews

20-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Cordless Cable Stapler with 2.0 Ah Battery, Charger and Bag is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made old work attic wiring so much better I bought this a month ago because a project of adding several plugs and switches was coming and this would require me running 100's of feet of romex through my attic. I do not believe it is safe to leave unsecured wires even in my own attic but as a DIY/Homeowner am not terribly good at using standard electric staples. This combined with the heat of the attic made this tool a godsend. I was able to secure my all my Romex overhead or along the face of the rafters often in places I could barely reach and my thumbs are bruise free my staples are not bent nor my wires shorted and I didn't pass out from the heat. Only thing I would like to see in the staples to be a little tighter, often times you could slide the romex back and forth through the secured staple, also an additional step to access the staple loading mechanism would be on my list of improvements. Still great for a gen 1 tool. Also would really like to be able to rent as it will probably now sit unused for a year or 2.

I was excited for somone like dewalt to finally make a cable stapler that shot insulated staples without jamming. Dewalt did just that! Unfortunately they failed in one area that forced me to return it. The stapler works great and can jump from different size cables without skipping a beat. The one flaw is it can't staple single cables tight enough to keep them neat. When I run cables they are staight as an arrow. I hammer in a staple and then pull the cable tight and hammer in another staple. You cant do this with the dewalt stapler. A single cable can slide back and forth in the staple. This caused my cables to look messy and sloppy. As a professional I can't have this. I need my cables to look good. I really wanted to love this tool but I couldn't justify the price for somthing that couldn't work well on it's most needed application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a great tool Got the Dewalt 20 Max cordless cable stapler and it works wonderful. Now retired, but still do remodel jobs on the side, from the stud installation to the drywall or paneling stage. Always before when doing the wiring, I would use the metal staples when running along the stud.It would be quite the trick to hold the wire flat with the edge of my palm while using my thumb and index finger to hold the staple so I could use my right hand with the hammer. Many times I would miss the staple with the hammer and my fingers would painfully absorb the blow.NO MORE.This tool is so easy to use.Left hand is used to hold the cable flat while right hand Guides the notch over the wire. The light in it to light up the work surface was a excellent idea.Even using this stapler part time is such a time saver and a finger saver for me. If I were a full time electrician I would not be without this tool. And at around a penny and a half per staple a little more costly then buying the metal staples in bulk, but so much easier to use.All in all, a super tool [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy it First of all the battery life is incredible. I didn't know how the 2 amp hour battery would compare with my bigger 20v Dewalt batteries, all my Dewalt batteries last forever and this one isn't an exception. I have put a whole box of staples through it over two days, a garage rough in and a smaller residential rough in. The battery is still showing 3/3 bars, I am now not even going to bother bringing my spare battery and charger. One tip to help you use less staples, and this also makes the staple hold tighter. When you pull the trigger to staple your wire push into it a little. When you do it on engineered joists push a little harder with your off hand on the back. Its funny to see people claiming to be electricians not figure this out when I figured it out halfway through my first staple box. In the first half of my stapling I stapled excessively because I hadn't figured out I could adjust retention by how hard I pushed. What did I staple though? Data runs - 3 cat5s and a coax on each one x5 A ton of home runs in 12/2, it handled doubling, and even trippling up of the wire like it was nothing. A 10/3 for a dryer which again went beautifully. Another really awesome way you can use this stapler is to put the bottom at the last staple and hit it again. I could do most of my stapling today one handed because the head of the stapler held the wire up. The prongs that go around the wire also allowed me to straighten the wire and hold, and staple it all with one hand. This one handed operation is a godsend up on a ladder, you can do more with less ladder moves. Whoever came up with the "2x faster than manual hammering" in the Dewalt marketing office was generously understating how much time this thing saves. One more time for the little girl that returned his stapler because it "didn't staple hard enough to hold the wire straight", push into it and work a little, Newtons laws apply. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This stapler hits them powerfully meaning if you aren't pushing it will bounce back slightly and lead to less penetration. In other words don't be dissuaded from buying this because of people who don't understand physics or nay sayers saying they are having a hard time with staple availability. The staples will come and are already very available.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy! This stapler is small big packs a punch! It fits nicely in your hand. Although I didn't use the gun for what it was intended for it actually has another use that I love! I put the DeWalt stapler to work on my 80 acre farm stapling my 5 strand barbed wire fence to my hedge posts! And if u ever built fence before u know what I mean when I say sometimes it's a lot of trouble trying to get those darn steeples where they are supposed to be. After yet another black fingernail I got a little mad and threw down my hammer and picked up the stapler and started using it to fasten the fence to the post! Amazing!
