Q:Are instructions included on how and where exactly to use the oil on it?
        by|Nov 10, 2023
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Yes, instructions are included. This pole saw is equipped with an auto oiling system that keeps the saw chain and guide bar constantly lubricated. The oil level indicator 25 shows the level of the oil in the chain saw. If the oil level is less than a quarter full, remove the battery from the pole saw and refill with the correct type of oil.

Box So Damaged Did Not Open
This was not in stock at the store, so I ordered home delivery. The box arrived in terrible condition, like it was return that had been used by someone to trim their branches and then returned. Very disappointed in the DeWalt brand. Perhaps its a contractor hired to process returns or the shipper, I don't care. I'm returning it for a similar product - a Ryobi that is in stock.

          Thanks, DEWALT.
            it works well
It reaches high and cuts well. my only issue is, it leaked bar oil everywhere. luckily I only had it on the floor for a week. if it had been on a shelf above other things, they would have been soaked.

              Small and powerful
I have the option to use it short or long because it extends to my liking with both extension bars

                Wow!
This pole saw surprised me! I was able to trim a large tree in my yard and the battery lasted 4+ hours, using a 4ah battery. The saw also had enough power to cut 8" limbs! It did bind a lot toward the end but I attributed that to the battery getting low.

                  Amazing
Very impressive tool! Didnt purchase with the intent to clear this much, but i dont own a chainsaw so I figured i would try this first. I ended up cutting trees that were over 1.5’ in diameter, and it worked flawlessly! Thanks dewalt for making a solid tool!

                    Worth Every Penny
I own a gas pole saw but wanted something longer since I own a lot of the Dewalt 20v tools. I bought the bare tool pole saw and worth every penny if not more. Yes a little top heavy as the motor is at the bar/chain, doesn’t cut as fast as my gas saw but super quiet, much longer reach and well worth the price. I like the angle on the blade. Let the weight of the tool do the cutting. Holding near vertical the best balance but of course don’t stand directly under branch being cut. If you press too hard it will stop the chain. I trimmed 4 large maple and oak trees in less than 90 minutes which filled 4 - 5x8 trailer loads of branches. I used a 4 amp/hr battery and still had 1/3rd charge left. I used 2 tanks of bar and chain oil so check frequently as unlike gas you will likely run out of bar and chain oil before the battery runs out. Check chain tension with each fill of oil especially when new. Great that the tool holder is built into the chain scabbard. I love the ability to add or remove the center section. Only minor complaint is the double top safety switch. I taped down the small top catch that requires pulling back before pressing down (really!) but still requires me to press down the safety before pulling up on the trigger. I didn’t want to defeat both safeties. Why a 2 in 1 safety switch is beyond me but if you require 2 don’t use any power tools! And yes contrary to the manual I used a ladder and my roof. I’ll never use my telescoping manual pole saw again!

Great, no need to climb patters you cut branches. Make sure you get the oil, Home Depot should place oil next to tool.

                      Great battery powered pole saw!
While this definitely doesn’t have the power of a gas pole saw, it does exceptionally well for being battery powered. As others have said it is a bit top heavy, and it can get a bit unwieldy when it is extended out to its full length. Let me explain. I was using it to cut branches beyond the maximum 15’ cut height, some of which were directly overhead or were out a ways, and when resting the head of the saw on the branch it cut through them with ease, but presented me with a new problem. Once the branch was cut the saw would fall to the ground right alongside the branch, and while I was able to catch it in time before hitting the ground, it put unnecessary strain on the shaft. After this happened I had a brilliant(for me) idea. I bought 100’ of 1/4” rope, tied a noose on one end, and then tossed the noose over a branch higher than the one I’m cutting. Then I put the noose around the head of the saw, just above the knuckle that mounts the saw to the shaft. I grab the rope in one hand, the handle in the other and I’m ready to cut branches as far as I can reach. Pulling on the rope with one hand virtually eliminates the weight of the saw, and while cutting the branch helps counter balance the saw and once the branch is cut, the saw sits up there waiting for its next job. I hope this helps someone else as much as it helped me.
