Blower tube blows off
Got this in January 2020 and had to chance to get a feel for it. It blows great, but at high speed the blower tube has a tendency to come off when you do an up/down motion. There is a design flaw with the blower tube and the tube clip. The tube does not fit snug and tends to rock up and down causing the tube clip to jump off the blower tube. Tried to contact Dewalt by phone and on hold for over an hour and no contact. Tried messaging and again no contact. The other Dewalt product I have no issues with.

We have two leaf blowers now! This and an Echo backpack that’s needed to blow away the millions of leaves our trees drop during the fall.
The reason we bought this, adding to the backpack, is the portability, size and battery powered operation.
Lots of twigs, leaves and acorns drop all over our roof. Using this, I’m more comfortable, and so is the wife, getting that stuff off the roof rather than the backpack blower. It’s not nearly as strong but you don’t want it to be on the roof. Also, I use it for our enclosed porch and patio. Basically, smaller areas that don’t need a tornado to blow things away.
It’s nice to be able to grab a battery, take the tool, and have it working in less than two seconds.
Don’t expect this thing to work miracles or make it easy blowing leaves off a large yard. If you have more than a quarter acre with many trees, I’d look at something strong. Otherwise, this will suit you needs and make you happy!
The batteries last a good while as well. A 6ah should last a solid 15-20 minutes at full throttle while half that for the smaller, i.e. 2ah, ones. You may want to make sure you have a few of those on hand if you have a big job to complete. The pictures show the DeWalt with a 6ah battery and other with 2ah. The 6ah fits just right but is a little snug when connecting the battery.
For what I needed, this is perfect and highly recommended. If you want to blow your home away, I suggest a 510cfm or greater backpack blower.

As others have mentioned, the guard needs immediate replacement; do yourself a favor and order the larger one (part: N496261, and set up an account at DeWALT's site). I don't mind getting messy, but upon working this I got completely covered — head to toe — trimming some growth out of a driveway.
As for what type this was (Type 1-4), I received a Type 3 (possibly more desirable per other reviews?), with the slightly older head (I believe). I purchased May 2019 from E Portland Mall (very friendly and helpful staff, btw), and got the tools opened and assembled.
Overall it will take a few minutes to assemble, and comes with one hex (only tool required) to put on the handle for the trimmer. Pleasantly, the battery was also fully charged.
I was also thoroughly impressed with the strength of the blower, and glad I upgraded from the B+D (thanks, anyway!) version I had.
I highly recommend these tools, and the value is phenomenal for both units, including battery and charger. I would also recommend the fast charger if you spend more than half a day working outside for your home, but especially if you're a professional. Congratulations, DW, you have a lifetime, satisfied customer.
Only negative is the amount of plastic waste required in the package was although quite small (at least it appeared they tried their best to minimize), still could be reduced further. This is of course a larger issue, but should be mentioned for all manufacturers: reduce single-use plastics now.

I purchased this 8 months ago and during those months this was my favorite tool. The variable speed trigger is really useful in moving small piles of dust precisely. At full strength it moves everything in its path. It is light In weight but feels sturdy and well balanced. And then two days ago it went dead and refused to charge. Tried everything, leaving it on the charger, putting it on and off, everything I could find, but to no avail. Now I have to spend another $100.00 to make my $200.00 blower it work again after 8 months! Very disappointed.
