Making Dewalt Trimmer better than Echo
I had owned two Echo SRM-225. When I switched over to Dewalt Trimmer #DCST922B, I would always break the trimmer line with slow speed setting. I tried the toughest .095 trimmer lines, such as Husqvarna Titanium Force and Milwaukee trimmer line and they would always break when touching the concrete.
Then I took the shield off and it was night and day. Now line would last a long time and also I can extend the length of trimmer line to 8 or 10 inches making a bigger cutting area. Without the shield and long lines, the motor head seems to spin slightly slower and that made the line less likely to break and still cuts well.
I also recommend switching to Husqvarna T35 Trimmer head.

Trimmer quit working
Loved this trimmer until it quit working, actually still love it, want to get problem fixed. Not sure what happened it just quit while using it, thought it was the battery so I swapped it out and it still didn’t work. I am bias I love the 20v platform. Light weight, easy to use, love that it folds in half too. Purchased it on 6/17/22 quit working less than a week ago. Never purchased extended warranty on any Dewalt products, never had to. Still have 14.4v and 18v products that work very well. It acts like it wants to spin when pulling the trigger just makes a clunking noise. Any thoughts on what could be the issue?

switching to milwaukee over this
This is the most p--- poor excuse for outdoor equipment not to mention the trimmer market. This thing needs constant cleaning, it ne we bumps properly, it has improper balance if you use lass than a 5ah battery, it requires tools to clean and string, if you tighten (by hand) the stringer head it will lock up and render the product useless. I'm literally switching to milwaukee over this product and the pole saw that leaks chain oil right out the box, it was like 2016 when they released this product, no one has a more difficult setup than this product. I've owned and talked up dewalt in the hvac trade for over a decade, their outdoor products are inexcusable trash.

Sent me a used trimmer
Shame on you Home Depot. I had to wait a week to get after I was told delivery would be same day. You sent me an old used dirty trimmer. My recommendations are to open box on all items purchased from Home Depot as they do not verify their returns.

purchased 5/22/21, it's a brick 6/20/22
Really like this out of the box. It's powerful and made quick work of trimming after I mowed. Easy to handle and I'd only have to charge the battery after every other use. I really enjoyed this while it worked. 1yr warranty expired less than 1 month ago and this stopped working. Battery is fine. No noise or anything just came to a dead stop.This has been used maybe six months total since purchase, every two weeks or so and a relatively small area. This literally lasted less than a month after the one year full warranty. A search on this product shows others with the same issue. What a piece of garbage. I reached out to DeWalt support via chat and they say you'll receive a response within 24 hours. That hasn't happened yet.I was expecting to have this brushless trimmer for a few years, but that obviously didn't happen. Waiting to hear if this will be covered under warranty because if I have to pay for this repair since it's literally less than a month past the full warranty, it's going in the trash and I will never buy another DeWalt again.

pretty sweet
just used it today pretty sweet lots of power to be expected from a electric weed Wacker I have to weed wack alot maybe hour hour half worth and do not use hi holy cow I was burning up batteries so fast I went through 4 dewalt brand batteries but when I switched to low I could go alot longer but was slower also almost a 2:1 ratio from hi to low batteries being used pretty heavy but comfortable very comfortable it's alittle longer than our gas one which is better for me my back doesn't hurt but your forearms will lol but pretty impressive in thick stuff. I live in the country an mow 3 acres lots of trees but city use would be ideal honestly I'm gonna have to make a belt for the batteries so I don't have to walk back to the barn and switch batteries batteries were all 5ah batteries

Not for professional use but perfect homeowner
I can see that this wouldn't work well for a professional without an unreasonable # of batteries & chargers, but for your avg homeowner who just needs to keep the area around the house clear & do some edging, even in very overgrown areas, this is perfect!
