Not for professional use but perfect homeowner
I can see that this wouldn't work well for a professional without an unreasonable # of batteries & chargers, but for your avg homeowner who just needs to keep the area around the house clear & do some edging, even in very overgrown areas, this is perfect!

Picked up April 27th, stopped working during its second use today, May 29th 2021. I own a sun joe weed trimmer that I wanted an upgrade on. Bought the Sun joe May 4th, 2020. Only paid $34 for it. $150 for the Yellow one. With DeWalt the 3-Year warranty doesn't even cover normal use on the motor, not sure if I'm going to replace it or just return it since I'm still in the 90-day return window.

I have many DeWalt 20 volt products; a drill, an impact driver, circular saw and jigsaw. The product game quickly from Home Depot with free shipping. Product was easy to assemble. As I already had a 5 amp battery I thought there would be a great use of my battery capacity and conveniently edge my lawn. Product worked well, however it was easy to unintentionally scalp large areas of grass and my first job of edging my lawn looked kind of messy. I needed to learn how to hold the tool head properly in order not to scalp too much of my grass. The product works as intended and fits in well with a DeWalt 20 volt product line. Price was reasonable and I expect it to last for quite some time. Overall I give it a positive review.

I loved it so much... and then it failed
I purchased this trimmer on the 10 of June and was absolutely in love with it. For being a 20V tool it was incredible the amount of power it had. It worked amazingly until the beginning of July. Then I ran into the issue that ended my happiness. Where I live we haven’t had as much rain, so when I’m weed whacking, I’ve been kicking up dust as well. Unfortunately, this created an issue. See the vents on the motor housing are quite large. Do to the size of them, they allowed the dirt and debris to get inside and caused the motor to burn up. I wish that I could recommend this, but I can’t until DeWalt fixes that issue.

Not lacking anywhere! Switched over because I was tired of messing with my gas weed eater each year and works amazing! Also already collecting the dewalt 20v power tools for working around the house ect. So a great addition to my set!

So far so good! I love that it folds and takes the batteries I already have for my other tools....
So far so good! I love that it folds and takes the batteries I already have for my other tools. No more gas, oil, tank and noise. It has the power that need. I am now going to look at other dewalt lawn products cause they are awesome.

Minimum or no info on various models all marketed as the same product. What out!
I purchased this full package trimmer 1 year ago. It stopped working. I looked up info on internet and found others had same motor failure. The only options go to another manufacture or buy tool only. I opted tool only. I never submitted warranty and never expected it would be necessary. I have a Dewalt 18v drill for 15 years still works great and I expected the same with this trimmer. Dewalt has many variations (models) of this same trimmer as with other of there products. Too many choices relates to problems. Lost faith in Dewalt. Time for Milwaukee.
