Using the DeWalt nailer is a “game changer!” If you are already heavily invested into the DeWalt cordless ecosystems and can justify the cost for your particular project(s)—buy it! The battery life is good for our rehab framing needs and the convenience of having no cord or need for generator mitigates any weight concerns for us.

Fast and Easy to use.
Works great. The depth of drive works well, a couple of test nails and easy to set. Heavier than a hammer, but a lot less work driving nails, and fast. Notice a bit of paper that holds the string of nails together gets trapped under the head of the nail, but I expect that to weather away in a few days. I used Paslode, hot dipped ringed framing nails, 30 degree, paper linked, 2 inch long; to nail 3/4 inch thick cedar boards onto 2x4 rails. No splintering, no splitting, no drive thrus. Be sure to locate well, before nailing, these nails hold very tight and removal can be difficult. No jams, nail string is 37 nails of this size so frequent loading is necessary for large jobs, but loading is very easy, just a few seconds to load a new string.

Piece of Junk
Very frustrating tool. This is my second one and it is just as bad as the first. Constantly jams. Nails do not sink when shooting on a angle. Nails get caught in chamber and stuck to the gun. Very frustrating. I own a lot of dewalt tools, and am very happy, but this tool is Very disappointing

Cordless and butane free!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love DeWalt's other cordless nailers, but this framing nailer was new to me. It's a great tool, but one of the best feature of this gun in my opinion is that it's 100% battery powered. With battery technology today, I don't even consider the compressor option.
Why does the DeWalt battery matter to me so much? Because I dislike the alternative. I've used the battery+combustion ones plenty and they definitely work, but when you're on a jobsite, nothing gets me more aggravated than having a couple oddball batteries and gas cans that don't tell you how close they are to dying. They're always running out at different rates too and it really messes up the production. Plus, the gas cans are just another consumable you can potentially run out of at an inopportune time. Obviously not a problem with this DeWalt.
This framing nailer has two different speeds and it also has a lower power setting for smaller nails to conserve energy. It also doesn't require lubrication which is nice. When I was using it, it sank the nails reliably and also performed well at an angle to the work surface. It's really kind of impressive that it drives those large framing nails without the combustion.
I know I talk about this from the perspective of a construction worker, but this is definitely an excellent tool for home projects too. Any day you're throwing a project together and you're not getting tangled up lugging around compressor hoses is a good day. No wasting time on getting set up. Just pop the battery on and pull the trigger.

Excellent Nailer with Power and Reliability!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this a couple weeks ago and was able to use it on a medium sized framing job with my crew. The power and consistency of the nailer was very impressive and felt like a normal pneumatic nailer. The slight weight increase was definitely a trade off, but not having the hose attached was a major plus!

I bought this 2.0 Ah battery pack to use with the 18 V to 20 V adapter that I bought for the olde...
I bought this 2.0 Ah battery pack to use with the 18 V to 20 V adapter that I bought for the older 18 V tools I have. It was $30 off of the regular price (new lower price) so I opted to go with this instead of the older 18 V battery which was $40.00 higher ($99.00). I may still buy the older 18 V battery if I find a great price simply because the adapter doesn't fit my 18 V flashlight. In addition, this battery will work with all of the other 20 V tools I have bought recently and can serve as an extra battery. By the way, don't leave the battery in the adapter or it will run down.

Great product
This product deserves a 5 star if it wouldn’t have been for the hook. Been using this nail gun for a a couple months, over 10,000 nails fired from it! Awesome product. Main problem - when I have had it hooked to my pouch I had my nail gun fall from different altitudes (20/10/5ft) due to slippery/bending PLASTIC hook, (to my surprise it still worked) but for an expensive product that hook needs an upgrade!!!

Not Working For Me
Got nailer about a week ago and getting ready to send back. Purchased nailer to built front deck and doesn’t drive nails thru treated lumber and constantly jams after ONE NAIL. Purchased nails (3 1/4”) according to nail specifications in user manual. Worked well with the first few nails but when it got down to the last 4-5 nails then the jamming started. Put in new set of nails an started jamming after trying to drive one nail. Nail one jam, nail one jam, nail one jam........I give up. Very disappointed with this product. Would not recommend based on my experience.

Convenient!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this kit for approximately a year now. Whenever I bring it out (everyday) on projects, the clients, co workers are impressed. I do not have to set up a compressor, or hoses. I have built 3 brand new homes with this nailer alone, even through a Canadian winter! I love how light it is, the hook for attaching it to my tool belt, the runtime I get with this is usually a full day with one battery.
I have also done a lot of renovations with this nailer to which it performed well.
I’ve only had one issue with this nailer was eventually the nails were not going in completely and also misfiring shots.
But ! Because of the awesome warranty the spring and striker were replaced . And haven’t had the problem since ! And it is back to building me some homes!
All In all I recommend this nailer!
