Excellent Nailer! No more noisy air compressor!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The DeWalt 20V MAX XR 16 GA Cordless Straight Finish Nailer Kit is an amazing addition to my growing collection of DeWalt tools. This nailer was designed to be very practical and functional. Now instead of having to lug around a bulky, noisy air compressor and several hundred feet of hoses, I just carry this nailer kit in the included storage bag. I take an extra battery and while one is charging, I work with the other. The battery duration on this particular tool is phenomenal. I really like how easy DeWALT has made it to clear jammed nails in the rails by just pressing up on the mechanism and pulling the jammed nail. This nailer is very controllable by the operator as you can set whether one nail comes out per trigger pull or multiple, also allows for setting nails to a particular depth. This machine is very well balanced in the hands especially with the 4 AH battery included in the kit. The battery charges from empty in under an hour on the supplied charger. The carry bag is perfect for storing the tool, battery, charger and boxes of nails to be used with the tool,
Again, DeWALT has created and excellent tool that should provide many great years of service to me, and make for very happy customers. Thanks DeWALT!!!

Dump the compressor and hoses
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dewalt nailed it with this one. Power galore , no kickback at all , beats dragging a hose and having a compressor without doubt . 16 gauge great for trim moldings and anything you would use a finishing nail for. Seems heavy at first but with the power it has, lack of kick back, long battery life , hands down it's better than the air nailer and, the size of the unit is no hindrance at all . Don't hesitate spending the extra to go for it. Downfall if we really think about it is, a hard case would be better at the job than the soft bag it came in .

Dewalt DCN662 16 gauge nailer - No hoses needed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dewalt DCN662 is a cordless 16 gauge straight finish nailer made for Dewalt's 20V platform. This nailer supports up to 2-1/2" straight finish nails. The unit is made from the same super tough high strength plastic as the rest of their tool line. It uses an inline magazine where the nails slide in from the end, which works pretty well in my testing. It has a front mounted LED light to help light up the surface you're nailing. The depth adjustment knob is located near the upper front of the unit, and is tool free and easy to rotate. It has a quick jam release mechanism which makes clearing jams effortless, even with one hand. It also has a rafter hook near the battery, which can be moved from the left to right side, or removed completely if needed.
My first test of the nailer was replacing door and window trim in an apartment. In my testing the nailer never jammed once, and had plenty of power to sink 2" finish nails below the surface. I found I had to use the depth adjustment a few times when nailing through harder materials to keep the nails penetrating correctly, the same as you would with a pneumatic. After a couple hours of using the nailer, my battery still had more than %50 power left. I suspect a trim carpenter could go all day on a couple slim pack batteries, or probably a single 6ah battery. About the only downside I can see with this nailer is it's a little heavier than a pneumatic. Although not needing an air compressor or air hose everywhere you go is well worth the extra weight in my opinion. Also, if you need to get into really tight spaces where this straight finish nailer wouldn't work that well, Dewalt also makes an angled 16 gauge nailer, which is part #DCN660.
