Q:I'm planning to clean air duct and need 30 gallons 175 psi 28cfm what do you recommend ?
    by|Apr 28, 2022
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  For 175 psi and 28 CFM requirements, you would need a large industrial type compressor - 80 gal. two stage air compressor. If you can utilize a smaller tank size and lower CFM for your application, we would recommend model # DXCM251 - 25 Gal. 200 PSI air compressor with an air delivery of 6.2 SCFM at 90 PSI and 7.7 SCFM at 40 PSI.

Q:What is the difference between model Numbers DXCMLA1683066 an DXCMLA1983054, DEWALT air compressors, other than the pumps?

      Answer This Question

A:  Model# DXCMLA1683066 has an air delivery of 6.2 SCFM at 40 PSI and 5.3 SCFM at 90 PSI. It has a 1.6 running HP. It also includes a high flow regulator, which supplies more torque for projects like removing old rusted bolts. Model# DXCMLA1983054 has an air delivery of 7.0 SCFM at 40 PSI and 5.7 SCFM at 90 PSI. It has a 1.9 running HP.

      by|Feb 9, 2022

A:  Twin piston vs single, 1.6 vs 1.9 hp, 5.3 scfm vs 5.7. Bring up the spec for each to verify.

Q:Will this fit into the back of a suv for transport home?
          by|Aug 17, 2020
          4 Answers
          Answer This Question

A:  The unit stands 47 inches tall. Do you have that much height in your suv to stand it up. Don't know if it can be laid down safely or not.

          by|Aug 21, 2020

A:  Probably not. But keep in mind that the compressor MUST remain upright while being transported.

          by|Aug 31, 2020

A:  I believe it will fit without the box. It may fit with the box, but I don't know how big your SUV is.

            by|Aug 20, 2020

A:  This will depend on how tall the back of the SVU is. Since this is an oil lubricated air compressor, it must be transported upright. The height of this DEWALT 30 gallon air compressor is about 49.3" in.

              Great Price and works great!
My old compressor but the dust and I saw this Dewalt at a local supply store. I am very pleased with my purchase and after the recommended break in it had performed flawlessly. It is also a lot quieter than my other one.

Just brought my new Dewalt 30 gal compressor home from Home Depot. Started it up and five blades broke off the pulley. If the shroud wasn't attached who knows what could have happened. Totally unacceptable. So either Dewalt or Home Depot needs to pick this up because I just spent 4 hrs of my day driving into the nearest HD. Totally unacceptable.

                  happy with this compressor
They didnt stock this in the store but it arrived fairly quickly in the midst of covid19. No visual shipping damage. Comes fully boxed and on a pallet and filled with synthetic oil. Did the 1/2 hour breakin. After breakin tested fill times. 50psi in one min. 100psi in 3 min. 150psi in 6 min and shut off at 160 in 7min. Switch set to cycle at 150psi so cycle time about one min. Measured 77db @ 12-feet. Pretty quiet. Converting from 110 volt to 220 volt simply changing 2 wire locations on the motor and swapping out the plug to a 6-20P style. Also added a wireless vibration hour meter. Note this Dewalt compressor is actually made by Industrieal Air and American made. They make high quality compressors. Bought the Dewalt version because it was on sale through Home Depot

I'm pretty happy with this compressor. it is replacing my sears direct drive of similar design. main reason is noise. it is in my garage and I read that the dewalt type is fairly quiet. I checked it out. when I received it I compared the 2 with my db meter. The sears was 100 db (really freaking loud), the dewalt was 78. Both from a few feet away. a huge difference. when I would use the old one I put on hearing protectors it was so loud. I believe the sears put out more air so its a little bit of a trade off. BUT--the dewalt goes to 150# the sears 125. It comes on around 110 and cuts off at 155. then cools off to about 150. I did not like the drain so I changed to an elbow and ball valve and extension pipe all 1/4". It did not look like there was enough room but it fit. that is something they could change, is give you a little more room under it. It does not leak down so that is another plus. I use my compressor quite often, for many cars, painting small items, a blast cabinet, blow out the garage, etc. I really don't see any major downsides. It is inline with other compressors of this size and type. I do wish it put out a little more air but that would mean going to 220v which I don't have in my garage.

I previously had a non-oil compressor. I am VERY satisfired with my purchase. They said it would not be quieter but it is much quieter and you can tell the Dewalt brand is much more quality than the previous husky I had. I would definelty recommend this. I have had it for about a month now. The only thing that I don't like is the added weight. It is much heavier.

This product is efficient, gets the job done, and is quiet. I have had it for a few weeks and am satisfied with it. It does not take up too much space in the garage which is also nice. It meets my expectations thoroughly.

All the compressor I'll ever need...
I am a big Dewalt fan, ever since working in a shop for building scenery for theatrical productions. Their tools are very well built, with great durability and power. This compressor is no exception - it's great! It builds up to 150+ lbs of pressure in ~10 minutes from an empty tank. Kicks back on when it gets to ~100 psi. It's reasonably "quiet" - I've certainly used much louder compressors - but it may be hard to hold a normal conversation while its compressing air... It holds pressure extremely well - I leave it for weeks with 100+ psi in it, and every time I check it, it hasn't dropped at all. So nice to have that air ready all the time! I highly recommend changing out the drain mechanism on the tank - it's very difficult to reach and turn it to drain water. I'd put a 90 street elbow on there, with a small lead of regular pipe, going to a nice ball valve. That's what I'm going to do, so I can open the drain more easily. With the ability to put out 7 CFM at 40 psi, and nearly 6 CFM at 90 PSI, it'll run everything I'll ever need it to. And it's super nice that you can just plug it in to any 120V socket (you DO want to make sure it's on a 20A breaker, as it really pulls some serious amps, especially at startup!) If you are going to transport it from the store to your home, be ready to deal with spilled oil, if you lay it down from any length of time (more than a few minutes). We had to travel ~30 minutes, and a good bit of the oil came out. Still had enough in it, though, to run just fine, and complete the break-in procedure. I eventually purchased the Dewalt synthetic compressor oil off of Amazon -- it's blue -- and topped it off. The pneumatic wheels really help when moving this thing around, though it's heavy enough that I hope I never have to roll it through uneven/grassy terrain by myself! Cast iron is heavy! Overall, 100% satisfied! Great product - will enjoy using this for years and years...

                      Great compressor, 155PSI
Great compresssor, really like the 155PSI capability. I added an elbow to the tank drain because it was hard to reach.

Top end product for its class
The product performs well. It has enough power to run alot of tools. Make sure your breaker is at least 20a. This thing runs at 15 which will trip a 15a breaker in most situations. Product is shipped with oil already in it. Make sure you leave it right side up when bringing it home or the oil will leak out all over the place. Dewalt should have just kept a seperate thing of oil for the customer to add. Its heavy too, not ideal for portability unless you are 6'5" and 350 lbs.
