Questions & Answers

Just recieved this saw today, runs great cordless but saw is making excessive noise when it's set up corded. Anyone else have this issue?

Normal or do i have s defective cord set up?
Asked by: Andy
I dont have a definitive answer.I would ask if the motor feels warmer after the same amount of use with the batteries. Mine makes a little more noise but nothing alarming. I would call your local retailer and ask when the DeWalt Rep will be in next. He/She will have the best answer.I would not try calling the (1-800) number for them as they are not always well informed especially on newer products. Good lock!

Store with saw

Can this stand be put into the the vertical storage position and then stood against a wall with the saw still attached? I own the DWS780 12" Sliding Compound Miter Saw it is quite large. I'm wondering specifically about that saw. Of course I would lock the saw into the down position. Thank you
Asked by: Dave
The manual says store in the flat position. That is for safety reasons. If you store the stand and saw vertically, NEVER put your hand or anything else near the red release lever. You won't be able to get out of the way fast enough.

Mine came with two batteries ( it takes two ) , a dual charger, and a 125V AC power module. I think different "versions" ship with different power options.

Set-up and Collapsing for Storage - Can 1 person safely set-up the stand in the working position with a 12" Miter Saw bolted in place to the stand and then safely collapse the stand for storage when finished? My current stand really takes 2 people for set-up and when finished, collapse it (release-it) for storage. When you release it, it will slam hard to the floor. Not really friendly.
Asked by: John
It's designed to be operated by one person. That said, the heavier the miter saw, the more effort it takes to raise it into the locked position. It would probably work best with a 10" miter saw, but will work with a 12". My Delta 36-255L is heavy, and it does take more effort to raise than the one I had with a DeWalt on it. Still, it's better than lugging that beast around when I want to use it.

32-1/2 in. x 60 in. Rolling Miter Saw Stand is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 341.

I don't think I would've spent 200 bucks on this stand if I would have known there were no rollers on the extendable arms. Also the extendable arms should have a fold out legs to hold them up in place I think

I love the flexibility of not being tethered to a power cord. My only gripe is that there isn't better instruction on how to use the hold down clamp on the left side of the table.

Love the saw just had one major issue whenever you would bring down the saw to chop it would move 1/8 to 1/16th too much wiggle Room had to return it and exchange it hopefully new saw doesn't have the same issue Check out toolaholic on Instagram to see what I mean by the problem. Great saw other then that no other issues but would like to see better quality control on first gen products was almost not able to return it close to my one year product return other then that would have been stuck with a useless 800 dollar saw since the closest dewalt repair shop is 5 hours from me.

Never had this happen with Dewalt before. It seems as though a bag of parts wasn't included when packed. Can't comment on the device itself since I can't use it. It seems solid though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome DeWalt engineering ! Recently used this saw to install a new stairway consisting of new risers and oak hardwood treads and I used the saw all day in the cordless mode and it performed flawlessly. The next day I was installing the hardwood flooring on the landing when the saw signaled that it was time to change blades by the light blinking, changed out the batteries with my spares and off I was again cutting away. I like the fact that the light doesn't stay on constantly and drain the battery, it comes on when the trigger is pulled and goes off shortly after trigger is released. Very nice design DeWalt. I'm glad that the crown stop screws are compatable with this saw. This saw will come out more often. Happy customer from Va.

Still, great for a portable miter saw. The features are awesome and although it's pretty expensive (barely justifiable) the fact that it comes with 2 60v batteries was what sold me. It's a great tool, if you have the money and want a quality saw that is portable, I say go for it. However, if it's just going to sit around, maybe a cheaper model with suffice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wrong Picture I recently purchased this stand and love it except the stand in the picture is not the one you get. The one in the picture has rollers for the material support. The one you get from the store just has a stationary bar. I contacted DeWalt about the issue and the first lady I spoke with was extremely rude with no customer service skills. I then called back and spoke with a very nice lady who got a technician to call me back. Supposedly the one with the rollers is a type 1 and the one you get is a type 2. They offered nothing to remedy the situation and the picture still shows the wrong one.
