My model, from 2016, has a depth adjustment for 0, 10, 20, and M.
This will work great for you. Much faster than a doweling jig. With biscuit joints you still need to watch the alignment during glue up. You could spend 10 times as much for a domino, but a little caution during glue up is not that big of deal. The slot is slightly larger than the biscuit (the biscuit swells to fill with glue) so be careful you don't over cut. A simple test piece will let you know. Good luck.
Mine is corded no battery.but 5-6 hr amp.batery is about 50 bucks.and I will not buy less.but I have alot of 20 volt tools by dewalt

No it is just 110 volt and pulls the noted 6.5 amps.
Yes, the adjustment range of the joiner from the wood top surface is 3/16" to 1 3/8" so it will handle thicknesses greater than 1 1/2". Joining thick pieces of wood you could use two rows of biscuits along the length of the edge and rather than adjusting the joiner for two different vertical heights along the boards edge to be joined you could just flip the wood over (this won't work if the board edges have different thicknesses, and if that is the case you must always work from a single surface and adjust the joiner accordingly).
I used it in 3/4 plywood
