Yes with a cutoff disk
I just purchased this and used it on a small sanding project. I made lap joints on 6x6 posts with circular saw cuts and chisled out the stuff I wanted. Wasn't the cleanest so I used the grinder with a 36 grit sanding disk. Problem was, with even a little bit of downward pressure the disk would stop spinning. Yes, I waited until it got up o full speed before using and no, I didn't apply too much downward pressure. I had an older Skil grinder that just wouldn't turn on yesterday hence me running out to buy this. I'm not sure if it's just a lemon because it was only treated pine. I wasn't grinding out an oak tree to make a canoe LOL. Please advise if I should return it.
Hello, We are sorry for any inconvenience. The angle grinder is not meant for wood sanding. The angle grinder and with the correct disc are for metal and masonry sanding, grinding and cutting.
