A:  That guy Steve doesn't know how to use it. The drill works just fine. I have used it for installing up to 5/8" anchors in concrete without issue.

Yes, you read that right. I use my other DeWalt corded 3/8 chuck drill to mix mud, but I wanted something with a handle, so I bought this. After 45 seconds of slow mixing mud on the slow, the unit began smoking and sparking. Unacceptably dangerous.

Lightweight, but durable Hammer Drill. Had to drill a few 3/4" diameter holes about 12" deep, and it never quit! Chewed through the concrete quick!

Good value and worked well. LIght-weight and easy to use. I not only drilled holes in concrete to insert expansion anchors, but I used it to bust out 60-year old concrete to make a door fit. I was very pleased.

Replaced 40+ y/o B&D, significantly lighter weight, nicer/easier reverse switch, variable trigger switch functions well. Used to remove 3 paint layers from 36" steel door plenty of muscle and speed control to do the job. Fits in old drill case so not a problem since DeWalt didn't supply one.

                      Great Drill
I had difficulty drilling into concrete block with an old variable speed drill. Did some research and decided to try a hammer drill. Went to Home Depot and with an associate's assistance, I selected this DeWALT 1/2in VARIABLE SPEED REVERSIBLE HAMMER DRILL. It has a switch that allows you to go from regular to hammer, and it made the job very easy. The attachable handle and depth guide is easy to add, and for the price I paid it is a great value. For the average homeowner who needs a drill for household projects, you can't go wrong. I recommend this corded drill over battery operated. I expect it to last for many years.

3-4 hours of use in 2.5 years and it quits
Figured I’d pay more for a reliable brand and sort something that wouldn’t quit, ended up not being the case. Certainly irritated when it made a weird buzzing/grinding noise and then stopped working altogether. Extent of use was wood spade bits. Finally gave out boring through studs to rough in electric. Dewalt makes some things good but definitely not this drill. Guess I’ll go pick up a backup at HF while this thing gets a warrant repair, though I could’ve bought like 3 there instead.
