Questions & Answers

how do i close and open this knife

Asked by: pat
To open the knife you simply fold it open and then push the blade forward by sliding the button on the top of the knife forward. To close it you would retract the blade using the same button but pull it to the rear and the press the lock inside the handle of the knife and fold it closed. **See picture for frame lock location

how to change blade

how to change blade
Asked by: ronnie
DO NOT REMOVE ANY SCREWS! The blade is changed by pressing and holding down the small black button on the left side near where the blade extends out of the silvet/gray portion of the handle. Hokdibg this button down simply pull the blade straight out of the handle. This button is the same one that locks/releases the exposed blade. To install a new blade just hold the button down and slide the new blade - sharp edge facing away from the button - into the blade slot until the two notches are inside the handle. Finally slide the black thumb guide to fully retract the blade into the handle and correctly position it for use. Then use the knife as you normally would. (FYI - There are 2 extra blades stired in the yellow & black portion of the handle. Lift the butt end of the black portion of the handle - it hinges on the same hinge as the knife folds. The extra blades are in a slot on one side with the black cover open.)

I'm left handed, and have found that almost all of this type knife are designed for right handed people. This usually means that the safety lock or some other feature is put where my left hand will hit it. How does this knife compare? Has anyone tried it?
Asked by: co
I am also left handed and didn't have a problem with the knife. Seems they only last so long and you have to replace anyway.

Folding Retractable Utility Knife is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 75.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blade holder needs redesign There's too much play in the blade holder which allows the blade to come out or get jammed in the knife. Back to the drawing board Dewalt.

I just bought this and have wasted 30 minutes of my life trying to install a blade. Now, I'm sure some engineer thought this thing out real thorough like. But, I'll bet he never in his life tried to install a blade. There should be no need for instructions. There should be no need to look at anything. It should be simple and straightforward to install a blade. It isn't!!!!! It's going back to Home Depot!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blades Get Jammed It shouldn't take watching YouTube videos to figure out if I am doing something wrong when I change a blade. A hint: I'm not. Blades just get jammed into the knife so easily. I'm trying to change out the second blade, and it's the second blade jammed. Garbage. I will be getting a new knife now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, Easy To Use, 3 Blade Storage It does exactly what it supposed to. It’s compact, easy to unfold, easy to close, and easy to change the blades. It’s stores three blades in the handle which is also easy to get to. Doesn’t need a tool to open.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pocket clip weak. Knife too bulky. There's only one Anchor Point on this clip and it gets worn out You lose this knife out of your pocket constantly because the clip swivels. Design needs work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible design This is a very poor design, blade does not extend, I literally bought this yesterday, and it does not work. I will be returning it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blade will not extend and no where to get an answer to how to make it work. Looks neat, but buy something else.
