Questions & Answers

will it shoot 2 1/2 inch framing nails

dewalt 15 degree coil siding nailer
Asked by: mc
Typically, you can use a siding nailer to lay a roof but not for framing. Why... you ask? Roofing nailers operate at too high a psi for the delicacies and preciseness of siding. You can use a framing nailer for siding but not for roofing. But careful, its not appropriate for all siding or in certain circumstances. How come, you say? Framing nails are too long for roofing. .All other nailers... use them for the intended purpose. Job specific nailers are designed for the intricacies of each skill... as the old adage goes, "use the right tool for a job well done.

Was this supposed to come with the male attachment to connect it to my compressor hose?
Asked by: Ashley
This gun does not come with the hose adaptor to be plugged into your compressor, therefore, needs to be purchased along with the gun.

what size hose do I need?

Asked by: Anthony
A 1/4" hose works good and keeps the gun light. As long as you don't run more than two guns you should be good

Pneumatic 15-Degree Coil Siding Nailer is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 97.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Far So Good I do siding and so far I love this gun. It’s pretty light compared to other guns on the market so its really good for soffit and fascia (nailing over your head) and feels better hanging from your bags. The hook swivels which is kind of nice but I just wish it was a little longer like the normal aluminum hooks. It defintely is touchy but a nice touchy. I do a mix between a bump fire and a normal fire. I press the gun into the wall and pull the trigger at the same time. With most pneumatic nailers they have a gaurd surrounding where the fastener exits that has to be depressed all the way for the gun to fire. After getting a feel for the gun I could get the trigger right to the firing point as soon as the gaurd is depressed all the way. It’s a shot that ends up being a little quicker than a normal fire and more consistent or accurate than a bump fire and I haven’t really been able to acheive with the older hitachis on the job. Whenever I hand my gun to someone to tack something they usually double fire it. I think Dewalt got it right on this one.. what you see is what you get, nothing fancy just a utlitarian tool that gets the job done and should last. It’s a stick shift car with no ABS or traction control. Ive been using 2

The wire collating on the head end of the nails isn’t breaking off with every shot and eventually gets long enough to jam the pin in the slide. Very expensive to have these problems with a brand new tool.

I will give it a real test this weekend when I replace the sheeting on a storage shed. I have used Dewalt for years and have always had great luck with their tools.
