Amazing set of economically priced dado blades and make ideal cuts. Came with various shims to accommodate imperial and metric measurements. Thanks Diablo!

        does not cut flat dado
Did a large project that required making tongue and groove parts. The blades are not all the same diameter so there were high and low spots on both the tongues and grooves. Had to use sandpaper and chisel to make the parts fit. The difference is not a lot, maybe a few thousands of an inch, but it was enough to prevent the parts from fitting properly. This made my large project even bigger. I would not recommend this if you need nice smooth dados.

Can't go wrong with the Diablo Stacked Dado set! This was my foray into the use of a stacked dado blade. I undertook the effort of building kitchen cabinets and I knew that to do them properly I needed the backboard to be dado'd into the side panels. My table saw is a Craftsman 113.298 and is at least 40 years old! It's also a 10" blade saw, so I was concerned about using an 8" blade. Several friends that have used stacked dado's said, "Don't go cheap! Expect to pay over $200..." All in all, I cut nearly 100 dado slots, mostly 1/2" and a handful of 3/4". The saw handled this set wonderfully! My cuts were only 3/8" deep, so the blade size different had zero impact. All of the cuts were very clean and my board fits very smoothly and the cabinets turned out amazing! Advise I'd give after you buy this is to make sure you keep consistent pressure on the board as it goes over the blade, not all boards are completely flat and I did encounter 1 cut that wasn't deep enough and it caused me to scratch my head for a long while trying to figure out what was wrong. Also, buy a new zero clearance insert for your saw at the time you get this set. If your saw is anything like mine, the blade insert is metal and the hole is not easily expandable. It's way smarter & better to have an insert sized for doing dado cuts. Don't be like me and make the cuts without an insert!

Awesome set of dado blades. Bought a less expensive pair earlier on and my dados and grooves would have course bottoms I would have to chisel or sand out. Enter Diablo Freud dado blades. These guys cut a very smooth channel with minimal sanding needed almost effortlessly. Love love love these and looking forward to using them in my shop.

This was my first ever dado set and it exceeded my expectations. I've had my eye on this for a while and am so glad I finally purchased. I am a hobby woodworker at best, but this dado set has opened up so many possibilities for me. Did a trial run with it and it went so smoothly that I jumped right into my first project with it.

It’s a good quality product. First time users, read carefully the installation procedure and table saw specs! Your table saw should be designed to work with dado sets and dado blades must have higher max RPM than your table saw RPM. Oh, dado set diameter should fit into the table saw.

Used to make 1/4" Dado slot cuts on the vertical dimension of 2x4's to accommodate galvanized mesh livestock panels for goat pens. Worked very well with a basic Ryobi table saw after changing blade spacers. There are some good YouTube videos showing best practices for mounting and using Dado blades which I highly recommend if you have never worked with these tools. My application only required one of the included chippers and no shims. Picking these components to make the proper width notch was pretty easy to determine via the included instructions. My only complaint was the instructions themselves. Not the content - which was good, just the fact that a ton of info was crammed onto a small, illustrated sheet that was part of the display packaging. Would have been nice to have more detail on a separate, more easy to read sheet.

          Glad I bought this one..
This blade gives a great finish cut. I've tried using a rip blade on my table saw to make dados, with multiple passes, but nothing beats an actual dado setup. So far I've only used the stacked blades for a .25" thickness. Blade is precise and the cuts are near perfect straight off the saw before sanding.

          Awesome. Perfect. Noobie.
Never used a dado before my life. After adjusting my table saw in multiple increments I finally said screw it and bought this set. (Im making thomas the train track shelves for storage and display for my sons room). Glad I went with this one and not the cheaper one. It works real good when both blades are facing forward like they're supposed to. Lol. Yeah my first test cut I had one blade on backwards. Hey I said I was a newbie. My only complaint keeping it from getting five stars is the probted/etched sizes on the shims are not all very legible espectially rhe really thin ones. The inclusion of more durable and larger printed instructions would be better too. Anyhow...project is coming along grey thanks to this dado. My "plunging" the boards into and off of the blade shy of the ends is prolly not the safest thing to do but the end product is so much better.

See very fine print on packaging to find instructions.
I have just purchased this dado set, and it appears to be a good set, but I have not used it yet. I saw another review that this dado set does not come with instructions. I have found the instructions in the very fine print on the back of the packaging cardboard. See attached pictures and text below for copy of instructions. DIABLO DD208H STACKED DADO SET SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS 1- Setup: - Disconnect power before installing, or adjusting the dado. - Use the chart to select the components needed for width of dado. - After cleaning, place the first outside blade on the arbor, being sure rotation Is correct. - If chippers are being used, place them on next with the teeth of the chippers. aligning with the two open spaces on the outside blade. - If more than one chipper is used, rotate every other chipper 90. - If spacers are used, place only one spacer between each pair of chippers or between a chipper and an outside blade. - Install second outside blade, ensuring that the teeth of the last chipper are located in the two open spaces on the outside blade. 2- Adjusting Fit: - After installing dado and replacing the appropriate safety guards, make a test cut in a scrap piece of wood. - If fit is too tight: disconnect power, remove the outside blade, install the appropriate shims (shims not included - Shim set #SS100 is available from any Freud dealer). reinstall the outside blade and guards. and make another test cut. - If fit is too loose: disconnect power, remove the outside blade, remove the chippers, install the chippers for the next smaller sized dado, install the appropriate shims, reinstall the outside blade and guards, and make another test cut. - Repeat this process until desired fit is attained. 3- Use Both Outside Blades: - Never use the chippers by themselves, or with only one outside blade. - Not using both outside blades can cause personal injury, or damage to the tool. 4- Clean well: - Be sure all components are clean and free from dust and chips. - Chips between components may affect performance and damage tools. 5- Multiple passes: - Wide dadoes remove large amounts of material in a single pass at full depth. - Multiple passes starting at lower depth of cut may be required for proper control and safety.
