I have the larger MasterCOOL evap unit and need to replace at least one pump(failed to turn on the water at the beginning of the season and only noted it a week later when Phoenix hit 90 degrees). Both purge pump and circulating pump from factory are Dial MaxCool MC750 pumps. This one is only two cents more and will purge much faster. Is this a good idea to use this instead of the MC750 to purge? Would there be any problems in using this for both purge and circulation?
Asked by: MrV
This pump is designed for circulation (constant flow when switched on). It could also be used as a manually controlled purge pump, but would likely be less efficient (more water waste) as a timered pump designed for that purpose.

Make sure to buy the screen basket that goes under and around the pump. Unplug the old pump from outlet. Unscrew the nut holding the support bar from old pump that attaches to the swamp cooler. Remove hose from old pump by just pulling and twisting until loosens. Remove the pump. Place new pump in cooler unit. Re-attach the water hose and set in the mesh basket, pulling up the sides of the basket around pump. Re-attach the support bar to the new pump at top of new pump there will be a silver screw to attach the bracket. Plug in your new pump and make sure the extra wiring is wrapped in a way that will not get caught in the swamp cooler fan area. this may take a wire tie or zip tie to keep extra cord away from fan. You are now done!
