The product does not work properly
The hose gives about 7 inch wide irrigation coverage, so spacing them each 6" should provide for a uniform lateral coverage. Lengthwise the coverage is quite uniform. However, the quality is poor as it quirts water from many places as illustrated in the attached picture. This will get water on your leaves. DIG support said that this is because there would be no pressure regulator but I have 25 PSI pressure regulator. I tried with another one which is new with the same result. Avoiding getting water on your leaves is exactly why one purchases this type of product. The DIG support also suggested covering it by mulch. My raised bed in not mulched, so I hid it under a tiny bit of soil. This resolved the squirting but it also reduced watering to only about 2" laterally, making it utter useless. This is a bad product that does not work properly and should not be sold.

This drip soaker hose has replaced a drip irrigation tubing with built in emitters, which was plugged up already at several places after a year of use only. Compared to that tubing this one is a dream come true. It is softer, which means it is relatively easy to connect and disconnect without braking the plastic connectors. It also provides uniform watering not like the one with the emitter at every 6 inches or so. It was also much less expensive than the tube with the emitter. I am curious how long it will last, but since it is so much better, I will stick with it even if I have to replace it every year.

Does not perform as claimed. The product package states that even at a very low 15 psi the product will deliver 46.5 GPH over a 50 foot length. In actuality, the amount of water that seeps through the porous surface of this drip soaker hose is not much more than you would expect from condensation. Useless for actual irrigation purposes.

Ideal for raised bed vegetable gardens...
I used the drip soaker at my previous home for my vegetable garden and had terrific results, so when I moved and did it all over again, this was my "go to" product. This method of watering puts most of the water in the soil and not on the leaves. Also, it does not disturb the soil as much as sprinklers do so the seeds aren't moved around and roots develop more quickly.

      Good product
I like soaker hose and have used this and other similar products for over 20 years. It works well to distribute water in a slow drip fashion to plants. However, you must put in a reducing psi- valve with a filter or connector for it to work properly (to keep your lines free and clear) and make sure you water long enough since the watering will be much less (which is good to prevent runoff and to get water deep to the roots of the plants).

      1/4 inch soaker hose
I was surprised to see so many complaints with this soaker hose. I have been using it for over 10 years to water approx. 250 bonsai Japanese maple trees. My experience with this product has been very good.I use Pepco's OctaBubbler as a water manifold.

Was not porous enough didn't do the job. Might work better if no regulator is used.

After a month or maybe two - the holes in the hose close up. You will not get any water penetrating the hose wall. You won't notice until your plants/flowers start to wilt. Buy with caution and only use for short term applications.
