Been installing and repairing irrigation systems for over 15 years and combining the filter & pressure regulator into a single device is one of the best improvements I have seen for drip systems. It used to be that you had a bulky filter with an o-ring that would ultimately leak plus a bulky pressure regulator attached which would ultimately create a valve system that was too long to fit into an irrigation box and still be serviceable. This combination filter/pressure regulator solves that problem with a much more compact and reliable device.

No female end
Bought this for my drip system, got it home, couldn’t hook it up because there was no female end. So it might work good, idk. I ended up picking up a different one that had a female adapter. My fault for not paying attention I suppose. But if you get this, get an adapter for it.

As other reviewers have noted, the combined pressure regulator and filter is a significant improvement over two separate units. I have three subgrade manifold systems in irrigation boxes, and there isn't room for a separate filter and pressure regulator; I only had the pressure regulator. Accordingly, each spring when I turned the systems back on, I could count on rust scale from the galvanized pipe in the elevated anti-siphon loops getting into the valves, causing them to stay open, as well as some scale getting through to clog emitters.. While I did get pretty good at cleaning the valves out, it was still a PITA. Now, I only need to seasonally clean the filter screens, and no scale makes into the valve system. I think I'll take up a new hobby with the extra time I now have!

Easy to use. Apply to the mouth of the faucet or timer. Do not apply a drip line adapter before. Do apply to a drip line adapter after. Easy to mount. I recommend a bi-valve adapter with shut on/off features if you use with a timer....Save yourself the hassle of unseating, you will thank me for this! Also, you will save yourself repeated trips to the store by buying a double end female 3/4" adapter to mount to the faucet/timer and the unit (just make sure it has a washer inside).
