About This Product

DIG's Earthline Brown 1 GPH PC drip-line is a pressure compensating drip line with drip emitters every 18 in. delivering equal flow over the length of drip line. Use for all plantings, including groundcover, shrubs or individual plants, loop around trees or for complete coverage of an area where multiple lines of drip line are placed 16 in. to 24 in. apart. Each PC drip emitter inside the drip line consists of a cylinder with a labyrinthine water passage, filter and diaphragm. Each PC drip emitter continuously adjusts to varying incoming water pressure, ensuring a constant flow rate along the line.

Highlights

  • Drip line produces a flow rate of 1 GPH per each drip emitter at 10 to 50 PSI
  • Use for groundcover, roses, shrubs, plantings in narrow areas, vegetable gardens or loop around trees
  • Flow-regulated, self-flushing in-line emitters deliver equal flow over a wide pressure range and over the length of the drip line
  • Each emitter continuously adjusts to varying incoming water pressures ranging from 10 to 50 PSI, ensuring a constant flow rate regardless of elevation along the line
  • Use with DIG black insert, 0.700 compression fittings, brown barbed fittings and nut lock fittings
  • Manufactured with dow's 7510 linear low-density polyethylene resins with high environmental stress crack resistance and UV protection against the damaging effects of ultraviolet rays
  • Total of 65 1 GPH PC drip emitters per 100 ft.
  • Can be covered with mulch and used below or above the ground
  • DIG's drip irrigation products may be exempt from residential and commercial watering restrictions (check local codes)
  • Maximum run length of 369 ft. can be achieved from a single water source at 45 PSI

Answer This Question

A:  Hi MaBi: Yes, you can have several parallel lines at the same time, just remember not to exceed 400 feet total and keep the total flow rate of the system below 220 gallons per hour. Please see our drip guide for more product details and system design info...https://www.digcorp.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/DIG_Drip-Irrigation-Guide-2023.pdf THANK YOU!

Q:Can I add holes to this hose and what diameter should they be?

    Answer This Question

A:  Hi Captain- No if you poke holes in the tubing that will not be good, pressure will drop & too much water will come out. Q:We have about 300' of line and 3 trees at the end. We used T's to connect them to make circles with many around each tree. This was on for over 2 hours and only got a little water around the line. How can we get more water at the end.

      Answer This Question

A:  The most common causes of low flow from newly installed dripline drip emitters is debris or high pressure. For debris I would recommend flushing the line/s a few times by uncapping the end of your line and running your drip system. For high pressure you want to make sure you are using a 25-psi pressure regulator if your pressure is below 10 psi or above 45 psi the drippers in the line will start to close off or have very reduced flow. Q:If I install this tube as a circle around a tree, will I be able to use a walk behind self-propelled lawn mower? Will the tires crush the tube or damage the drippers?

        Answer This Question

A:  I would avoid going over the tube with a lawn mower.

        by|Jul 15, 2022

A:  Lawn mower wheels will not crush the tubing or damage the drip emitters in the dripline, but the blades of the lawn mower will damage the tubing. I would recommend checking your lawn mower blade height to ensure enough clearance for your dripline. If you have any further question, please contact our technical service/product support team at 1-800-322-9146.

Pick this up and installed it yesterday as it was the only option in-store. It's supposed to be 1 gal/hr, but there are large variations in flow from emitter to emitter. I tested 2 at random and got 2.2 gal/hr and 0.6 gal/hr at 25 psi. That is almost a 4x difference! Some hardly drip and some shoot out a stream 6 inches. I don't know if this is typical, but I'm not going to waste more time with this product. I'll be buying a well known brand elsewhere for only $5 more.

The drip holes were 18" apart. It would have been better if the holes were 12" apart (like my existing lines). The product worked great - I just looped around the plants to provide enough water.

It was a 9 inch spacing. It does not get the water where it is needed. I will remove is and dispose it. I have ordered another line that allows me to put the drip locations where I need them.

Response from DIG Technical SupportMay 31, 2024
Hi Customer: The Earthline Brown PC Drip Line is not the product you should be using if you do not want to saturate the soil under the entire length of the tubing. If you only want to water plants /trees in specific non-adjacent locations, then use the blank poly tubing (#B38) and install point source drippers on the line wherever you need to using the punch tool (#DPT). Please visit www.digcorp.com for more info. Thank you for using and reviewing DIG irrigation products. DIG

The drip line performs flawlessly, but some of the DIG fixtures leak, in particular the hose connectors with the 'shark bite' attachments. I went to two different HDs in order to find other items such as tees, straight connectors, and end caps.
