I would like to use DRIcore over a ceramic tiled floor of my linae (covered, enclosed, and a/c'd patio), to raise the level of the floor to overlay and connect with interlocking laminate wood covered floors in the living room. There is only a 3/4" difference between the main floor and the 18" x 18" tiled linae floor. Can I use this product to raise level the flooring and overlay with the wood flooring ? Can it be used in Tampa, Florida? The website said it is not available nor deliverable to my area.

Can this be installed on top of sleepers?
Asked by: Mojo
I would not install directly over sleepers, unless you install rigid high density insulation between the sleepers and flush with the top of the sleepers.

Customer Reviews

Subfloor Membrane Panel 7/8 in. x 2 ft. x 2 ft. Oriented Strand Board is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 124.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Watch those measurements!!! Be careful calculating your quantity to purchase - although advertised as 2 Ft X 2 Ft, these excellent units are only 22-1/2 inches square, and then you lose 1/4 inch for the T&G, so you get only 22-1/4 inch actual coverage. This gives 495 sq in coverage per tile, not the 576 you would expect with a 2 Ft sizing. Calculate quantity accordingly because this is a full 14% difference. A floor that would need 80 tiles at 2 Ft X 2 Ft will actually need 91 of these tiles. If you are wondering about this actually being metric, forget it - the coverage is 56.5 cm on a side, so not much easier to calculate that way either. Still - a really god product.

This spring we had moisture intrusion due to greater than normal spring runoff and ground moisture. We had to remove all the carpet and pad in our basement, replaced it with DRIcore subfloor and vinyl plank. Our basement is no longer musty and the air quality is 100% better. This product handles easy and is simple to install. I recomend having access to a table saw and suggest making a drift block out of a small chunk of 2×4 6" long or so and cut channel out that matches the tongue on the panel. Complaints: only things I could thing of are watch for slivers from the OSB and make sure you measure for starters and end pieces otherwise you can waste a lot of scrap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked as expected Having never used this product previously we relied on its advertised use. We placed it in the basement on concrete which was reasonably level. The contractor glued the joints on every other row due to the constant movement of the pieces as he progressed. The plastic base does make some 'clicking' noise when you walk on the basement floor where it was not exactly level but the subfloor does create a more level base for the final flooring. We are happy with the end result.

I decided to leave mine free floating in case I want to make changes in my basement later on. The surface of the OSB is smooth and will be a good subfloor for carpet or floor mats and makes it more comfortable

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Subfloor panels I live in BC and purchased these online (50 of them) and they were delivered to my door all the way from Mississauga, Ontario!!! They were in great shape and very easy to install. I highly recommend them as long as you have a level floor, some of my are a little wobbly lol

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's as easy as everyone says! I'm a single mom homeowner and I try to do as many projects around the house on my own as I can. I used this when I added a wall to enclose a slab floor mudroom on the front of my house. I was able to cut & install this subflooring completely on my own! The job went very smooth and quick! I had the subfloor installed in about an hour (the room is only 10x8) and the waterproof laminate flooring installed with no additional prep work right on top. That took only about two and half hours to complete. I did this job nearly 3 years ago and I am so pleased with the ease & warmth it has provided that I'm now pricing it out to do the basement.
