DRICORE Subfloor is the first and most important step towards creating a new living space as warm and comfortable as any other space in your home. DRICORE is the one-step engineered subfloor solution that is specifically designed for basements. The raised moisture barrier covers cold, damp concrete to protect, insulate and cushion your finished floors. Concrete continually releases moisture. DRICORE Subfloor panels promote good indoor air quality by allowing concrete to breathe, which in turn reduces the potential for mould and mildew. DRICORE Subfloor panels are fast and easy to install; a typical 500 sq. ft. basement installs in an afternoon.

Can I build a new wall on top of this product can I install over concrete and frame the area on top ?
Asked by: Will
Making Interior walls • An interior stud wall can be set right on top of your new Subfloor and is in fact, the preferred method of installation. Install your 2X4 frame directly on top of the subfloor, measuring for a "snug" fit between the subfloor and ceiling. • Once the frame is in position, simply screw the bottom plates of the 2X4 frame to the Subfloor panels, using 2" wood screws. To finish the anchoring process, we suggest fastening the bottom plate to the concrete floor using either 3" concrete nails or concrete fasteners. • Only minimal fastening to the concrete is required. For example, for every 8' length of base plate, install only two concrete anchors. Note: If you are planning to use metal studs in place of wood, the base track for the studs should be affixed to the Subfloor panels with 5/8" wood screws as a maximum. Metal stud base plates should be anchored in concrete every 2' when installing over Subfloor panels.

Our panels are designed for over concrete, and in select cases over wood, only. Please do not install over a sand surface.

what happens if a basement wall would leak again after the new dricore subfloor was laid
Asked by: butch
Hello Butch, Provided the OSB of the subfloor did not become saturated, you would pull up the subfloor and dry out the concrete. If you have a basement that slopes to a working drain, a dehumidifier and some high powered fans could dry the concrete without the need to lift the subfloor. Unfortunately the panels are not waterproof and would need to be replaced in the event of a flood deeper than 1/4".

Can i use 2x2 feet carpet squares on top of this with out having any issues since this is a floating floor?

Asked by: JE123
You can, but is this a glue down carpet tile? If so, please skin your subfloor with 1/4" plywood prior to gluing down.

Subfloor Membrane Panel 3/4 in. x 2 ft. x 2 ft. Oriented Strand Board is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 197.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Watch those measurements!!! Be careful calculating your quantity to purchase - although advertised as 2 Ft X 2 Ft, these excellent units are only 22-1/2 inches square, and then you lose 1/4 inch for the T&G, so you get only 22-1/4 inch actual coverage. This gives 495 sq in coverage per tile, not the 576 you would expect with a 2 Ft sizing. Calculate quantity accordingly because this is a full 14% difference. A floor that would need 80 tiles at 2 Ft X 2 Ft will actually need 91 of these tiles. If you are wondering about this actually being metric, forget it - the coverage is 56.5 cm on a side, so not much easier to calculate that way either. Still - a really god product.

Installed ~600sq feet in our walkout basement we are finishing. Product works as advertised, is relatively simple to install, and looked very good once complete. DRIcore's video's at http://dricore.com/nw/subfloor_installation_videos.php were most helpful, also. There is a noticeable temperature increase on this flooring vs. the concrete during cold season - I am in the Northeast, and we have already had numerous single digit temperature nights. Very glad we installed this under our LifeProof Restored Wood Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring, which also floats - looks and feels great. Although we have never had water/dampness in our basement, the piece of mind that comes with allowing the concrete to 'breathe' is well worth the cost of this DRIcore. Highly recommended if you are flooring on concrete !

I have a corner of the basement where water will seep in if we have extremely heavy rains and since installing the dry core I’ve had no problem with wet carpet for that reason again

Mixed in the middle were darker color boards that were actually thinner than the other boards. We were a bit disappointed. I would say there were at least 10 of these thinner boards.
