Q:Is the larger Outside Diameter the same size as the outside Dia. of a 1-1/4 in. pipe so that it will fit into a 1-1/4 coupling?

Answer This Question
A: 1-1/4" fittings are designed for 1-1/4" pipe. 1" pipe will surely fit inside a 1-1/4" fitting, but not snugly enough to solvent weld (glue). The OD of some Dura fittings, such as the 1" slip coupling 429-010, are poured smooth and to the next pipe size so that the 429-010 will fit inside a 1-1/4" slip fitting snugly enough to solvent weld. This is a feature/benefit unique to Dura fittings. No other manufacturer does this.
