No, we don't recommend converting this generator to natural gas to avoid potential damage to the generator. Please note any conversion can also affect existing warranties on the unit. We apologize for the inconvenience. For further questions please feel free to contact us at 844-DUROMAX.

Answer

We don't include a transfer switch for these models and the transfer switches will need to be purchased third party, but you can hook this generator up to any 10 circuit manual transfer switch with a 50 amp inlet. For further questions please feel free to contact us at 844-DUROMAX.

The generator will need to be ran for at least an hour a month to keep its battery charged, or if you're planning on storing the generator for a longer period of time; then we'd recommend using a 12V trickle charger that's compatible with SLA batteries to keep the battery maintained. For further questions please feel free to contact us at 844-DUROMAX.

Do you have this in stock at store

Answer

Hello Carter, thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. We sincerely apologize for this item being out of stock. At this time, we do not have a forecasted date for the return of the 3300-Watt Recoil Start Gasoline Powered Portable Generator. We recommend adding your email for notification of their arrival. Can this generator keep the hot-tub runing among other applinces at outage?

Asked by Habiby4ever February 1, 2021
1
Answer

it can only do up to 50 amps, so if your hot tub pulls and is hooked to a 60 amp, then i would say no. if it pulls less, then it could. you need to do a load test. thats what we did. we tested every item that would be used during the outage. in our case, we had a sub panel installed, so you pick and choose what you want to run, and maybe turn some items off while using a hefty one like the hot tub.

Can this unit be run outside in the rain?

Asked by Juice January 30, 2021

Answer

they should be covered, not meant to run in the rain or snow, so we got this. you can raise the flaps and one side is clearly venting the exhaust.

Can this unit be converted to run on natural gas

Asked by Andy December 19, 2020
1
Answer

Not this model. Duromax sells a model of this same rating but they put its dual fuel capability right in its name. If it doesn’t say propane it doesn’t work with propane. As for natural gas I do not know but I wouldn’t want this unit attached to my domestic natural gas line.

do you need a regulator on the propane bottle

Asked by George December 15, 2020
2
Answers

No, the generator will be already provided with the propane regulators needed for the generator to hook up directly to the propane bottle. For further information please feel free to contact us at 844-DUROMAX.

I want to add a tickle charger to this. What would be the best one to get for this generator?

Asked by Jade November 29, 2020

Answer

You can use any 12V trickle charger that's compatible with SLA batteries. For further information please feel free to contact us at 844-DUROMAX.

First Use Review
I have 50 amp service to an outlet box. I hooked up the 50 amp cord and turned the key, the generator started instantly. It ran EVERTHING that we wanted. At the time of the power outage there was a load of wet towels in the clothes dryer. We ran the dryer, no problem at all. If you want an easy way to power your whole house, get this generator and the 50 amp service, hook up one cord and you’re done. The generator is easy to move around, not that heavy at all and holds a lot of gas. Excellent generator.

This dependable workhorse run reasonably quiet starts on the second pull. If you were expecting to start it with the key right out of the box you're in for a surprise! This Duromax 12000 E is factory shipped with the battery disconnected, naturally. First remove black battery access plate. Then fish out the negative cable that is tucked away on the side with handles on top of the generator cover. This not mentioned in the manual. On another matter...the white closed cell foam pad provided to rest generator on during leg assembly, SAVE IT, it makes for an excellent knee pad when gardening.

This generator came through for us. It easily supported our well pump, 2 refrigerators, 2 TVs, 2 DVDs, and a few low power accessories such as chargers and a fluorescent light. Easy to set up, start, change oil, and gas up. Ran 13.5 hours on a single tank supporting this list before I gave up and refilled it.

Packaged very well, good instructions and powered our entire 34' travel trailer with ease - including the air conditioning! Performed as advertised - starting easily, runs quiet and is pretty fuel efficient for a larger generator of this size. We've owned and ran this generator pretty much every single day for the last 2 months without an issue. Home Depot provided fantastic customer service and they were excellent deal with - getting the generator in 2 days sooner than expected! Thank you!!

damaged and will not support over 15 amps!
The unit came damaged like someone dropped it several times. The unit would not pull 30 amps to run the a/c on my camper. The breaker fails at 15 amps! It is pretty quiet, starts right up, but it is not as advertised.
