5500-Watt/4500-Watt 7.5 HP Electric Start Dual Fuel Gasoline/Propane Powered Portable Generator with Wheel Kit

Bought this three years ago and haven't really used it much, but have been without power now for 9 days. This machine has been a God send.i have it hooked up to my 500 gallon propane tank with no worries about running out of fuel.

I picked this well before the start of hurricane season 2020 and got it set up with a 50a inlet box with breaker interlock also grabbed a 100lb propane tank and have it strapped to a hand truck for ez set up when time comes, so living in Florida the last season has seen record breaking hurricanes all over the south ea and some areas hit multiple times i still felt ready but as time went on our area got nothing ,,, nothing ,,, so with that i buried the generator in the garage just making room ,,, but months later a storm blew in with a heavy cold front bringing high winds and rain and of all nights it happened on Christmas Eve while wife and daughter were on 2nd floor last minute wrapping and BAM power out so i called DUKE energy and automated response was power should be restored by 1:00am i was like no way not on my watch not with temps expected in the low 30's ,, the whole neighbor hood is out so dug out the XP1200EH rolled out the propane tank fired it up let it run ( breaker off) while i got the power cord ready and made a make shift cover for it since was raining but winds were no longer a threat ,,, hooked it up and 1 by 1 flipped all the breakers on in the main panel and with a little detail of my house is its a 2 story 3900sq ft (3200living) i have a 3ton heat pump A/C unit upstairs and a 2.5ton heat pump a/c unit down stairs a large efficient fridge in the kitchen a med size older fridge in garage a 5ft freezer as well,, so far its running my entire house my wife needed to finish cooking and prepping Christmas dinner i turned off the the 1st floor A/C as i really didn't want to push it and have nothing but wife completed all her cooking on electric stove and used microwaves etc. at this point I'm so very impressed after a few hours i called duke back and estimated restore time had been updated to 5:30 am and that Generator ran the entire time and has never had gasoline in it propane only ,,, but my house is a good size house and is very efficient with LED lighting thru out Battery back up on all cable boxes Modems and routers energy efficient appliances i also added Kickstarters to both outside A/C units which cut the start up amperage dramatically which helps on the generator load and as well as everyday use i have seen a decrease in my electric bill ,,,, overall i extremely pleased with how it handled my house from 7:30pm to 5:30am Christmas eve into Christmas morning and the 100lb propane tank is still over 3/4 full and as i told my wife it seemed like 2020 wasn't going out with out a fight

Great generator, able to run on either gas or propane and provides plenty of power. Very well made, and arrived in perfect condition. Easy to assemble and set up. Starts right up with the push of a button I plan to run it on propane only and have two 30-gallon tanks for the purpose. I will use gas only as a back-up if necessary, since using gas requires more maintenance. The only drawbacks are minor -- The battery and oil filler cap are located down low on the unit, so they're not as convenient as they could be. Also, the included user manual, although printed on high quality paper, does not include certain details, such as how to manually start the engine on propane (you have to switch the choke lever over to the closed position until it starts, then open it).

The electrician already installed the Reliance 30amp 6 circuit manual transfer kit and exterior inlet. All I was supposed to do was make sure the new 4850 Duromax generator worked before he returned to connect it to the MTS and test everything. But the gen wouldn’t start! Apparently, after I connected the propane tank, I was supposed to slide the choke to a mid point before hitting the starter. Once it started, then you slide the choke wide open to smooth it out. This was not in manual. But the manual did warn not to toggle back and forth between 120v & 240V while the Gen breaker is switched on/up or down else... Anyhoo, I hope this works when I need it, and I hope never to need it. FYI, it’s still noisy at 69-70db without load. Also, some reviews noted that the wheels flatten over extended period of time so don’t forget to roll em around when you give it a monthly crank. I don’t wan’t to buy a battery tender. If you watch the Duromax videos, they differ slightly from the manual re maintenance & storage. Finally, it’s almost a 130lb. While easy to roll around, just be reasonable with your expectation as to its condition upon arrival. It’s not HD’s fault.

I received this product previously used. Did not work. Apparently this time ships directly from Duromax when you purchase it online. I was sent a used "fried" product when I purchased a new product. The features that this should have are pretty good, but when you can't use it and never was able to use it; very expensive loss.

I get about 5500-6000w continuous on natural gas and no need to worry about refilling. I can run the whole house and one of the following: the cental AC (3 ton); hot water heater; or the electric oven; or 2 electric burners. Im happy with that as I will switch the hot water or range to gas

Pieces broke off some parts felt that they were poorly made, I did my research and thought I was buying a decent unit especially for this price. Even one of the handles to lift and move the machine was not welded properly together and broke off..i am not happy with this unit.. Also that choke feels very loose and flimpsy

This Generator could not be easier to set up, after assembly and connecting the battery and propane it is a one button push to start, choke is automatic , I have read many reviews about people saying they could not find the battery cable or the battery is not connected this is because it cannot be shipped with the cable connected to the battery. The negative battery cable is connected at the end of the generator coil at the top you’ll have to remove the four screws to take the little side cover off to get to the battery and battery retaining plate. The battery on my generator was sufficiently charged to start the generator and just a matter of seconds after pushing the button The generator starts right up. Don’t be surprised about the weight of this generator it is a 13 KW rated generator it is not a lightweight. The noise is moderate compared to other generators of similar size you can actually carry on a conversation standing next to it but it is still loud

Box came in slightly damaged. One packing bolt missing, found in bottom of carton. No coiled housing around exposed wires as per photo. After speaking my with Durumax C S, they said they were going to ship a cover. That was 3 weeks ago, none yet. Started right up with propane. So far satisfied.

Great generator does the job my electric was out for 2 days. Easy to put together
