do these post come with the plates
Asked by: frank
Depending on the kit you buy. They are sold both individually and together as a set. And some retailers sell the set as package set of 6 which is more affordable than buying individually.

Can I rent an electric Jackhammer from Home Depot to install OZ Anchors? I am going to install a lot of them. First, I am building a new deck, secondly I am going to put up a fence around my property. I am going to use your OZ products. About 40 of your Oz-Posts T4-600 4" Post Anchors, Model # 30181. Also about 18 of your Deck 4" Foundation system, Model # 30163. I am also going to buy the JackHammer Driving Kit, Model # 20480 and a Post Level Model # 50740. Obviously having that many I do not want to install them manually. Watching the installation video, it is suggested to use a jackhammer. In that video, they have an electric jackhammer. My question is, does Home Depot have the electric jackhammer to rent for installing these anchors?
Asked by: TravelingMan
Each Home Depot is different, but you should be able to rent the jackhammer from them with no problem. You will definitely need it with 40 posts! We would love to see photos of your finished project!

How would these work for a hand railing going down a hill??? Digging is not practical due to the slope. I could, however, get a jackhammer. I have concrete steps each 2x4feet.

These work great. Don't need the oz deck portion just the oz post for this as the deck portion needs a flat surface and the slope will cause problems unless you dig out a flat spot on the hill. But for a railing you don't need them as there is no weight to support. I actually used them to construct a small ramp that I use to lower an inflatable boat into a creek that has a high bank. So it easily would work for railing.

I am building a Tiny Home 14 x 16ft. I am using a total of 10 for the foundation. I am trying to find out if there is a load limit on the plates.
Asked by: Shane
10 would be plenty for a tiny house as far as load limit as long as the spacing is kept as 6 ft. You also need to figure how high up you are going for cross winds as there is little uplift resistance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid and easy This product worked like a champ except for the big rocks in our soil. Where it could be driven, even through little rocks, it went quickly and worked well. I had two posts that eventually crumpled under the hammer when they hit big rocks two feet down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Biggest waste of money. After reviewing the testimonials from other people, I bought 9 oz-deck foundation post holders for my shed. My dirt here is not the best but I want to let you know the oz-deck system is not at all as it is advertised. Not one of the post will go all the way down using a dewalt jackhammer, and the 3 that even came close are still about ½ inch from the metal plate. It rain for three days before and it still did not help. I am not hitting rock because I can drive a metal rebar down in the spot but the oz-post just will not go. I have a friend that was going to use these for a deck on his house and I was telling the Ace hardware owner where I rented the jackhammer from about them but now I would not recommend them to anyone. I am also going to post this on as many forums as I can as I just wasted what was a third of the price of having concrete piers poured. and to add you can't even send a contact to OZ-CO as thier contact us page does not work.
