A: These are specifically coated for outdoor use. On very few occasions have I ever seen one of these screws rust and giveway/fail. If anything, they almost bond/grab so well that they are hard to remove (should you ever need to). I have had great success with this product and brand.

A: I have used them exclusively on our deck rehab. No visible rust or corrosion after two years. We live close to the ocean so get moisture/dampness. Go for it.

A: The front of the box says approx 72. I just counted all the screws in a new box and there are exactly 72. I had opened the box at some point, but I can't remember if I had taken any out or not. Each box also comes with a free T-25 bit.

Black 1 5/8 screws
After less than a month we noticed some loose slats on our fence. Problem was that the screws were breaking off on their own. This was on a privacy fence. Never seen a 1/2 fence slat break a screw before!

Honestly, it was a complete accident. I wasn’t paying attention. I usually always buy the beige color.
But as far as performance, they was ok. Could have more screw and less shank. That’s on any of them 2”s and over At $35 plus tax and walk out. It gets the job required done. I use these deck screws on my projects only.
I purchased recently pickets and more screws for another project that I’ve been playing with for the past couple years.

Rusted out in one year
These screws are a disappointment to say the least. I built my deck one year ago using the Deckmate 2 1/2” screws. I had to remove a board this year to discover that the screws had already started to rust.
