Hello Ernie, Yes, the postcover can be cut down. Please note that the install instructions say you will need a saw, if trimming.

Are the colors actually as they appear in the photo...gray and tan?

Asked by TAS February 5, 2021

Dear TAS, We looked through the reviews, and found that only one person commented on the color not meeting their expectations. Further, we know that the images are from real objects, so we believe that the colors are accurate.

Is there a recommended bracket to install (i.e., anchor) a 6 x 6 post to concrete where the ancho...

Asked by Tim October 8, 2020

Answer

Tim, For this installation, is is recommended to have the 6x6 installed within the framing, and not a surface- mount bracket. You could potentially do a surface-mount bracket for a 4x4 post (3.5”x3.5”) and then add 2x4s on each of the 4 sides of the post. Best of luck on your project. It's sure to look nice.

I am interested in using this to cover an existing mailbox square post...is this possible?

Asked by JCP August 29, 2020

JCP, As this product is created for exterior use, there seems to be no reason that it cannot be used to cover an existing mailbox post. Best of luck to you.

The composite material will easily crack or break. Instructions call out for 4x4 or 6x6 posts. You better use 6x6 then grout. I would not attach any fencing unless you did. There is little selection for post covers for these, especially for lighting. So you will need to notch out the post and base.

color
The color of the post had little or beige. It was a yellow color. It was totally misrepresented in the photo vs what the color of the post was. Very disappointed in my purchase. If I had not have had to wait so long to replace a previous post that is no longer in stock....iI would have sent tthis.post back due to misrepresentation.

Stacked stone post cover
Very satisfied with the quality, packaging and availability but way overpriced. I needed 28 of these plus 6 53 inch versions. Saved about $20 each by ordering from another source which offered free delivery. HD does include 8 screws however. Good product, poor value especially when they claim to be the only source.
