I don't want people to see that I have power running to the camera outside.

this is a cordless set up, there is no wires to run to the camera from the house

Hello Thank you for your inquiry. This camera has a wireless connection to the receiver. Meaning that the signal is sent wirelessly back to the receiver. Please note that these cameras still require an AC power source and would need to be plugged into an outlet for power.

can the cameras be view on a tablet?

Hello, The HDT301 system does not connect to the internet and cannot be viewed on smartphones or tablets. The wired Defender DVRs do have this functionality and can be viewed on smartphones and tablets once they are networked. I hope this information is helpful. Defender Customer Support

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a good buy I purchased this system because I felt it would be a good all around system. The camera works pretty well. The unit will not record. I wrote the company about this. It took them two weeks to email me back with information that I already tried. When I responded to their email they never got back to me. I would not recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DVR Security System I bought 2 sets of the dvr security system no longer than 6 months ago and I like the system except for the fact that the alarm would not wake up a dog and I have the receiver sitting on my night stand within inches of where I sleep. The system was working okay until a couple of days ago and now seems to be malfunctioning on one of the cameras and no longer goes into record mode when motion is detected.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible - don't recommend I have trouble with the base working only when it feels like it. Camera has to be close to base to work. Motion detection has to be within a too small of range to pick up the movement.
