I have one of these it works fine. Bought another one plugged it in and it immediately sparked and caught fire sending sparks all over my porch burning my husband's hands. Immediately taking thid burnt unit back to Home Depot.

Bought this to add to some other smart plugs i have in the house. This plug was super easy to setup, and was half the cost! It plays well with Amazon Alexa I will be going back to get a few more of these to complete my smart home setup. Thx Home Depot !

Defiant Smart wifi bluetooth plug is a compact, sleek, little smart plug with a single 120-volt outlet. The build quality is excellent and I am impressed by how compact it is compared to other popular smart plugs. I like that there is a little LED indicator right on the face of the plug as opposed to on the power button. It works with the Hubspace app which is available in iOS or Android app stores. Setup is pretty straightforward - just like most other smart home apps, you need to register for an account and follow the instructions in the app to add the plug. I would have given it a 5-star rating if I could use it with one of the smart home apps I already am using. This is a good starter plug if you do not mind having to connect and use it via a separate app.

I was hesitant, but now I am hooked. This outlet has so much potential. At first I was thinking I could turn on lights so I am not coming home to a dark house. Cool, but I have realized the possibilities are endless. Tired of the kid(s) waking you up because they are out of school and watching tv all night seems like a good idea? HaHaHa, not with a smart plug! Either set the timer or just turn it off when you go to bed and you can hear their eyes roll. Would work equally as well on a gaming console too. No issues here with downloading the app and connecting the device. Control through the Alexa app is seamless. She recognized it immediately and when given a command it is executed quickly. Since they are so affordable I will definitely be adding more.

The Defiant indoor smart plug is a solid device, but the app needs a few tweaks. The plug comes nicely packaged and includes a quick start guide and user guide. The first step in the setup process is to download the Hubspace app onto your mobile device and create a user account. That part went well enough. The next step is to use the QR code that is printed on the quick start guide to add the device to your Hubspace account. I used that method, but the app said the operation failed and I needed to manually add the device. The interesting thing was that it actually did add the device, so it was a bit confusing. After adding the device to my account in the app, I plugged the device in and tried to connect it to my wi-fi network. The app failed to show a list of active networks. I was able to connect the device by manually typing in my network SSID and password. The device connected to my 2.4 GHz network without having to go through hoops, which is more than I can say for some other smart devices I have installed. The nice thing about the setup was that once I got through the two issues, the app performed well. I was prompted to link my device using either Google Assistant or Alexa for smart home integration. This part worked very well when I connected to Google Home, better than most other smart devices I have added in the past. The smart plug limits you to 2 events per day and 2 multi-events per week. You can also create an auto-off timer. I current only have one event set up to turn the plug on each evening before bed. I have a room air cleaner in our bedroom and in the morning I tell Google to turn off the smart plug to shut off the cleaner so I can watch the morning news without the noise. The smart plug is working flawlessly for me and it leaves plenty of room for accessing the other outlet below it. I'm giving the smart plug 4 stars due to the issues with the app during setup. If not for the setup issues, I would rate it at 5 stars.

The Defiant Wifi plug is a great starter if your looking to start down the path of home automation. It has an extremely easy setup right out of the box. Its as simple as downloading the app from the App Store, scanning the QR code and follow a couple setup options. It does have an indicator light that will show its current status and network connection. It does lack quite a few advanced features that the higher end units have which is a disappointment but again this is only meant to be a starter unit.

I’m not gonna lie, this is one of my favorite cheap products you can get at the Home Depot. This smart wi-fi outlet is durable and constructed with quality in mind. Ridiculously each to setup and get going. I recommend having your phone on your 2.4ghz connection before downloading the Hubspace app to ensure flawless installation and setup. I will end up getting more of these for the house!

The Defiant smart plug is an easy way to get started in smart homing, or home automation. The device is well made, and simple to set up. There is an indicator light that let's you know the thing is not only powered on, but properly connected to your network. The plug can be used to control things like lights, stereo equipment, chargers and so on.

I use the Defiant smart indoor plug and it works as advertised. This plug is a 15 amp plug, so it works with some larger appliances. It is easy to set up with a smartphone and the HUBSPACE app. The only things that you need are a smartphone, a Wi-Fi signal and the hub space app, (which you can download off of Google Play). I have several of these plugs from different manufacturers and the Defiant smart indoor plug works just as well as the others.

I really like this smart WI-Fi 15 amp receptacle . It works very well, it is super easy to set up, and use. You simply download the app, and it runs you through the set up process. This receptacle come with a QR code that is specific to your device. Through the the app you scan the QR code and it finds your device, you then next add the password code from your router, it submits it to the app and it is ready to use. I at times have trouble setting up stuff like this, but this super simple. If I can do it you can do it, fear not. You can set times and such through the app and is very user friendly, you will not be disappointed with this product.
