Very bright and covers a large area
Been ~2 months, works great. Light is bright & covers a large area (50 ft driveway). Much better than those single-unit solar security lights the size of a brick. Light stays on for 1 min & has enough charge to turn on several times at night. Only complaint: the solar array only tilts up to about 80° from the base. I planned to put the solar array on the eaves edge & tilt it up past the roof but it didn't tilt enough. I don't like to install stuff on my roof so I had put a shelf for the base.

    Worked for about 2 months
Then? Quit working. Do not waste your money if you're looking for a lasting lighting solution. So now? It's a "remove light, repair/refinish siding" deal.

    Hello,
The solar light should not have stopped working so quickly. Was the initial charge of 5-7 days completed before being put into use and was an attempt to recharge the unit made? We are happy to help and technical support can be reached at 1-800-858-8501.
Works great and lights up the area nicely
WWSBJD if he needed to light up a garage with out power? Probably install theses lights. I almost didn't buy them because of the bad reviews but it didn't find anything locally that looked worth buying so I gave them a shot. The lights work great and light up the area nicely. They are bright and use the sun for free power. I'm glad I bought them and am very pleased with their performance so far. (4 month review).

Received the Defiant 180-Degree 3-Head White Solar Powered Motion Outdoor Integrated LED Flood Light as part of the seed program for an honest review. Small glitch in a missing part which was quickly solved by the customer service center personnel. I own 4 other LED solar powered spot/floor lights I use around my home on door entrance areas and back yard area. I placed this one in the center of my garage door to light that up. It works like advertise, very bright, lights up my entire back yard, and has all the setting you need to get it adjusted the way you want it. The only downside on this is the length of the cord between the light and the solar panel. It is 10 Feet long and probably great for most application, but I had to get move it to my back yard area as the cord was about 6 feet short of where I needed to place it on the roof and have the light centered on my 2 door garage, don’t have that problem with back yard roof. I searched the Home Depot site and all the internet trying to find an extension solar cord that would fit, No luck there as all the ones I found have a 2.1mm interior plug, and that is too small for using, so to the back yard it goes. Was going to take away 1-star for this but decided to leave it at a 5-star rating due to the brightness and coverage area of the light. Other than that, is a great Solar powered flood light as the pictures attest.

This light is very bright and, being solar powered, it is extremely easy to install. The light mounts to a plastic piece that's screwed onto whatever surface you attach it to and the solar panel requires 4 screws. Installation took about 5-10 minutes. I zip tied the solar panel to my antenna mount, which worked fine with my previous light. I do like the fact that motion sensor has a wide range of adjustability. With that being said, it's either not very good at picking up motion or the 180 degree rating is incorrect. Right now it is pointed more or less at a gate about 10 feet to the right of the light. Have it set up in a way so that it picks up motion moving across the sensor's plane, which is how you want it set up. Even with the sensitivity turned up all the way, it seems to only pick up motion within a 90-120 degree radius. That issue aside, as previously mentioned, light output is excellent. The two outer lights can be moved around quite a bit, ensuring that you get lighting where you need it. As installed, it sufficiently lights up a 7x20 area (more or less). Overall I'm happy with the light. The motion sensor issue is offset by the excellent light output and I will most likely get another one for the opposite side of my home.

I installed this light in the backyard up in a tree today Sept 24th, 2020. When it got dark, this light worked perfectly the first time. It light up the backyard with an incredible amount of light. When we walked by the sensor another time, it did not work. We walked by again with same result. Why it worked the first time and not the next few times I don’t know. Another issues was the angle adjustment. It is plastic with a big cross pattern like a Phillips’s head screwdriver. It was so tight, I could not break the adjustment loose. The head just got deformed by trying to loosen it. I was luck Un that the original angle was perfect. In my opinion, the adjustment plastic should be stronger and the slot much smaller and deeper so it won’t get deformed so easily. The lighting, when it worked was phenomenal, but I can’t recommend this product because it failed to work as it should and the adjustment is poor.

        Hello,
Thank you for the feedback on the solar motion light. With the solar lights it is very important to do the initial charge with the switch set to off for 5-7 sunny days. If that wasn't done that could be why it turned on once and then stopped. If you have any questions please contact technical support at 1-800-858-8501.

Defiant 180-Degree 3-Head White Solar Powered Motion Outdoor Integrated LED Flood Light – Living in a rural area it gets pretty dark at night and it is helpful to see deer, raccoons, the occasional bear and other critters that invade our yard. This solar-powered motion light works great. When it comes on it is very bright and provides plenty of light for the area. Best of all, I didn’t need to run a wire to the end of the yard for it to work. Until I determine the best location, I have it installed on a 12 ft board and have been testing it by moving it around the yard, tying it to trees. Installation and setup are easy, install the fixture and sensor to almost any surface near the area you want to light up, and with the long wire to the solar panel, mount that in a spot with optimal sunlight.

This light surprised me in how well it performed in my area. To be honest I had low expectations for a solar light of any kind. But I had been looking at a lot of them considering trying one to light up my back yard better when we take the dog out at night. I have some low voltage lights around my back patio where they wrap around from the front and they cover the area right around the door well. But I wanted something to light up the whole back yard and after considering a lot of possibilities I decided to give the solar a try. The only disadvantage over the low voltage or lie voltage hard wired is it not being a dusk to dawn solution. But considering how much trouble it saves it was worth a try. The fenced in part of my back yard is a bit over 100 ft deep by around 70 ft wide. And when this comes on it lights up the entire yard pretty well. And the sensor is sensitive enough that it lights up as soon as I step off the back sidewalk and stays lit as long as there is movement in the back yard. I have it mounted on a 12 ft pole sistered to one of my fence posts so it is 12 ft exactly off the ground. The instructions say to mount 8 ft but I can tell you it does fine higher. I may swap out the 12 ft. pole for a 16 late to get it up out of my eyes better since it is so bright. It hurts your eyes if you look directly at it. I had a hard time getting a good night picture until I realized y security cameras give a pretty accurate eye view as far as lighting goes. The night time picture I have included was on a moonless night when it was dark so you can see how it lights up the whole yard. Without it most of the fence would not show up in that picture. My little dog loves it. She goes crazy at night running off energy where she was afraid to get out far into the dark alone. She’s a big chicken but not now with this. I initially mounted it 5 ft off the ground to see how it did and I could see higher would be better not due to lack of light but to get it up out of your eyes. Also the sensor seems to do better at the 12ft height. Everything on it can be adjusted and that is a neat little feature. Time will tell if it is worth the price it sells for. If it holds up well I would give it a thumbs up there. As far as mounting that took me about 10 minutes since I did not have to dig a hole for the pole. I took two half inch x 8 inch galvanized bolts and drilled two 5/8 hole through the posts and bolted it to my fence post. This way if I decide to move it I can do so easily. The materials are a bit light since everything is plastic so time will tell how the plastic holds up to the weather. I used my own screws because I did not care for the ones it came with after giving them a go. Since it is plastic you have to be careful not to make anything too tight.

This unit is super easy to set up. Three parts and would take you maybe 10 minutes tops with the supplied grommets and screws. The settings on this one are above and beyond. One can easily adjust on off, lighting sensitivity and motion tracking. The best I have ever seen on a motion sensor solar light. Usually they are not that easy to figure out but Defiant went above board making sure this unit is one that anyone can set up and use. The full motion range of all three lights are adjustable to just about any position you could possibly need and the lights are very bright so I am sure you could probably play tennis under this light as long as you kept the motion sensor active. This is a high quality motion sensor solar light and the possibilities of use for this are endless. This one is going to end up inside my shed where I desperately need light charged by the sun outside! No electrical connection needed which is fantastic. This solar panel motion sensor light, receives my Gold seal of approval!
