Does this light require a light switch?
Asked by johnnymarsh39 March 11, 2020No, we had ours just hardwired in and it activated only by motion. I will say, however that over time, the motion trigger got a bit more finicky which made it less reliable. for the first 6 months it trigged exactly when I wanted it to, but after a year it was going on a lot more frequently and being trigged by seemingly random things. In that case, having it on a switch may be effective so that you can shut it down if needed. Overall, it was a pretty inexpensive light that did the job we needed it to, but you get the quality you pay for over time. I'd still buy it again for the use we had.
Is it possible to adjust brightness? The light is too bright for my area and would like to dim just a tad.

can you replace the lamp bulbs when they fail or do you have to replace the whole light unit?
Asked by Pac November 16, 2019The Defiant 180 LED Motion Outdoor Security Light has LED bulbs and typically will last several years without any problems as opposed to the ancient filament bulbs used in the past. I don't think the bulbs are replaceable.
