Answer This Question
Q:The one that's on it now doesn't fit properly & I don't want carbon monoxide poisoning. My landlord put tape over the two 3" gaps assuming no one would ever know. I would've never known had the silver tape he put on it not melted. The vent pipe I'm connecting it to is a lot thicker than this piece. So my question to you, is this the right part for that?

Answer This Question

A:  The 4 inch aluminum 90 degree elbow can be used on a gas furnace heater to connect the ventilation pipe to the unit. UL approved HVAC aluminum foil tape can be used for this application.

Helps prevent kinks in dryer vent
Installer from competitor did terrible job installing my new gas dryer. Insisted on not using elbows, using a squishy dangerous vent segment. I bought this flexible elbow and had it redone with a semi rigid vent. Much safer now, and dryer works better, and the vent is no longer smashed into the gas shut off.
