Has anyone any experience placing wine bottles as shown in the photos? I'm just curious how stable the bottles are.

AnswersThe bottles lay stable due to weight and don’t roll, there is no slot for the bottles . The only waY they would roll or fall would be if there’s an earthquake.
How large is opening for the base of wine glass?

AnswersNot sure exactly how much weigh, but I put a wine bottle and some stemware on it and the shelves have held up. I did attach them to wall studs.

These shelves give you the expensive reclaimed wood look for a fraction of the price. Perfect for wine bottles, glasses, and BOURBON :). The shelves look great and function perfectly. My only minor complaint was that they came with pre-drilled pilot holes. You want to hit studs with these. The holes would not line up with standard studs. I measured and made my own holes and hit studs. I saw previous reviews saying you couldn’t put wine bottles as pictured, but I tried several different styles of wine bottle and they fit perfectly fine and don’t roll.
