Yes, there are blades made for cutting thin sheets of copper, brass and aluminum. They have a higher tpi count and are hardened. There are some cool websites/blogs for cutting metal. They also sell jeweler's blades.

There are some really good videos on YouTube that show how to take the sides off to get access to the motor nuts. You could use some threadlok on the nuts after you get access and get them tightened.

which blade would be best to cut 5/32 steel

I only cut wood, but here is what I know about cutting metal. They make special blades for cutting metal that are only capable of cutting certain metals. I know from experience if you are trying to cut a pattern in a hand saw it will not work with a scroll saw. The metal is too hard. I would do a google search to get more precise information on different blades and metals that can be cut.

Will this saw fit on a Dewalt stand?

Yes. I built my own stand but friends have put it on DeWalt stands.

will it use spiral blades

It uses Pinless blades so flat end spiral saw blades should work fine. I have this scroll saw and I am very happy with it. I also have the Dewalt 20" scroll saw and other than some cosmetic differences they are the same saw as far as i can determine.

A lot better then my ryobi
This saw has done a pretty good job for everything I have thrown at it, it struggled a little bit putting 3 inch bass wood with olson and pegas blades. I gave it 4 stars because I feel like it could be a more aggressive cut feel like it is a little slow.

Works great. The weight is nice haven't had to clamp it to the bench yet. The only CON I have found is the bolts holding the motor had come loose, took it apart and added some blue thread lock. Have not had a problem since then.

Great product especially at the sale price. Seems to be well made. I purchased a magnetic sewing machine light to provide high intensity lighting at the blade ( a must). Variable speed, adjustable blade tension, and no pin blades are all positives for this scroll saw.

This machine is a game changer when it comes to detailed scroll work. I used to use a Wen scroll saw which served me very well but comes no where close to having the finesse and smoother operation of the Delta. I read one review that said you could put a coin on the work table and it would not vibrate off? This is true! Very smooth operation. Blade change can be. Little difficult be with time it becomes easier. Overall I am so pleased with this unit. Only regret is I didn't do it sooner!

I purchased this scroll saw a couple months ago. I've had a chance to do some pretty detailed stuff. I would say this should cover all of your scroll saw needs if you're in it for a hobby, it's QUIET, durable, and I haven't broken a blade yet with a few hours on the saw! The only downside, the table takes some work to get square to the blade. Zero is not center on this particular saw for me, not sure if it's just a fluke or a normal thing. That being said, once you level it up, it's great! I would say for the money (Not going totally cheap, not going high end) you can't beat it. I plan on running it till the end!

Saw arrived on time and well packaged. Assembly was simple just clean off light packing oil from the table and snap on the blower hose. It comes with 3 blade but not the best, alignment was spot on out of the box. Almost plug and play. It comes with all the needed tools for assembly. I have had several scroll saws over the years and most recently a basic "craftsman" this is the first upper level one I have had. The quality is night and day! Almost have too learn wood control all over because this Delta operates so smooth and vibration free. After putting a light coat of wax on the table it is smooth as glass! The blower is incredible, I was used to just moving the blower completely away on other saw but this one is like having a small air compressor right there. The air really works on this saw! Before mounting to a stand I was able to stand a nickle on edge on the table and run at full speed with out it falling over. Not so with other saws I have used. I have used steady for two weeks daily with many Christmas orders and have really gave it a work out. With the location of the power switch and blade tension it has cut significant amounts of time on projects. The saw I got was updated with a built in upper arm lift pin that holds it up for blade feeding/changes and it works very well. This saw runs very quiet. It has a hold down that I do not use but it run so smooth that there is no wood hop even with reverse tooth blades. The table has left and right tilt with simple easy access knob with positive stop detents. I can't believe the difference this saw has made in accuracy, speed and quality of intricate scroll work. I bought this after many hours of research on brands and reviews on many different saws. The Delta is basically a direct clone of the higher priced yellow and black one with interchangeable parts. This one is $100 cheaper only in price and Home Depot had the best price by far out of anywhere else including Amazon and Lowes, and with free shipping to home it was a no brainer. You can take the extra $$$ and buy other cool tools! I love this saw and can't imagine working without it now. Also have to give a hats off to Home Depot for price, easy ordering and fast shipping! If you think you want to try an entry level scroll saw for $100 or so to learn on, most will work fine but you will soon out grow it or decide you don't like to scroll because of broken projects and rough cutting inaccurate saws. Spend a little more one time on this saw and give it a whirl and you will be hooked and much happier because the difference in saw quality will make entry into scrolling much more pleasant and enjoyable. Not to mention you won't have to buy a better saw after you get hooked, you will already have an awesome Delta Scroll saw! I give this 5 stars plus!

Great scroll saw
I purchased this scroll to go with a used dewalt scroll saw so I could give scroll saw lessons. I personally use an Excalibur for my work. I was amazed at how smooth running this Delta saw is. I did a test project with it just sitting on a workbench and not bolted down and there was no excessive vibration or movement in the saw. My students loved it as well. If you are thinking of getting into scroll sawing, I highly recommend this saw.
