what kind of laser does this saw come with. shadow or laser
Asked by: MarkyB
Neither, this saw doesn't have a light or a laser. A real downside for a saw this expensive.

Can you cut 6X and if so how wide?(6X6, 6X12)
Asked by: Bowwalker
You would have to do it in 2 cuts. Use a stop block for the length you want and make the first cut then flip it over making sure you're up against the stop block and make the 2nd cut.

I use it for cabinetry and finish trim. I am really enjoying the depth and length of cut I get out of this saw. The glide is really nice. the saw has a super smooth glide/slide, if you want to call it that since it's on these fancy arms. The lack of a laser guide is a bit frustrating for a saw of this quality and price, but its something I've learned to live without. I've had nothing but clean cuts and no problems with this saw over the past couple of months and I couldn't be happier with the product itself. Overall very pleased with this tool I'm glad I bought it.

I had grown up with Delta products around the house (table saw) and had a certain brand loyalty. Their products were durable, simple, and well thought-out. Given all the five star reviews, I anticipated a saw that could handle all scenarios a demanding homeowner would throw at it: precise and accurate cuts for all the furniture I want to build, durability for that deck that's on my list, and everything in between. What I found instead was not that. There was an incredible amount of play in the trunnion housing, which affected the precision of the cut when it "chopped". The saw deflected about 1/2" at full extension, and by 1/8" when not extended. I got warped and curved cuts (nothing was straight), and many many blade marks. It was only when I cut wider stock that I discovered the issue, but went back and really looked at the 2x4s I cut and saw the same issues. As far as I can tell, this problem has to do with how the blade housing (the handle/motor/blade part) connects with the robot arms. A single pin (about 3/4") is inserted and secured with a retain ring on both ends. If not super tight, and it wasn't, this configuration can allow for a lot of lateral play in the pin leading to abrupt and unpredictable changes in orientation of the blade which leads to cuts that look they were made using a circular saw with no guide. And good luck trying to take this apart to fix it yourself. It just feels like this part of the saw design was a total afterthought. I fully expected play associated with the arms. I found none, these things are solid. The saw also delivered on durability, the thing is beast. And loud. Wow is it loud. The stock blade is also pretty good. Ultimately, I returned this saw after about three weeks of use. I really wanted to like it but this simple issue outweighed all the impressive innovation elsewhere.

We set this up on a portable bench and secured it to the table top. This made is easy to move it around the room as we were working. This is a well made bevel sliding cruizer miter saw by Delta. The moving actions are very smooth with heavy duty bearings. Adjusting the angle is quick and easy with a push of a button. The frame is made of military-grade aluminum, which also makes it not too heavy and a little more mobile at just 55 pounds. Comes with 7 pre set angles of the most popular cutting angles but can be set to angles in between these also. Has a handy dust collector and vacuum built in for easy clean up and low mess of dust. Low vibration and wobbling and comfortable grip that works for both lefties and right handed use. 15 amp motor and 5 year warranty contribute to the overall value of this miter saw.

I'm just starting my power tool collection and found that I needed a miter saw for several of my home improvement projects. This saw is much bigger than I expected and can handle much more than just home improvement and craft projects. It's really easy to use and takes very little effort to make cuts. The hinges make it easy to adjust and line up the cut with the laser insuring that every cut is precise. So far it's been perfect for cutting trim and I've also used it too cut vinyl floor tiles. Cuts right through and makes a nice, clean edge.

This thing works great! I love the included laser, my other miter saw does not have a laser guide, so it makes lining up cuts a lot easier and quicker. The handle is nice to grip and the sliding action is nice and smooth. The two separate arms provide great stability. Works great right from the box, highly recommend!

It looks futuristic with its specially designed arms which are super nice to use. To me it's a better design than the usual dual metal tube saws. The main difference is how close you can get to the back wall with this saw, really right up to it, and in my garage workshop that makes a huge difference. Before I had to put away my old sliding miter saw after each use, now it can stay set up all the time. I checked all my test cuts to see if I needed to adjust anything, but they were right on right out of the box. You can personalize the slide action by adjusting the tension which is pretty cool, but I didn't feel a need to change it from the factory setting. The first few times I used it, visually... it was a little different after so many years of using both a radial arm saw which has a straight track, and the tubular sliding saws also with a straight tube, I have to admit it felt a little strange, it's almost like a robotic arm, but after a few minutes of use that quickly disappeared and was replaced with a feeling of... this is really nice! I like the soft start and blade brake for safety and the adjustable cutting depth. This 10" Cruzer can cut boards up to 15.5″ wide. Delta says this model also has the widest cross-cutting capacity in its class, BUT it needs a 2″ x 12″ added as a table board to make that cut (also need to remove the guard). I don't see any reason to cut that wide, if I do I'd use my table saw. Being left handed I like that the horizontal handle and trigger is righty and lefty-friendly. I've always thought that a horizontal handle was more comfortable to use. The trigger has a hole in it where you can padlock it to prevent a child or non authorized person to use it (see pic). The saw has a place for a laser but none is included, which I am surprised at this price point. After doing a little searching on line, I found out that Delta is planning on releasing an add on laser in Jan. of 2018. There is no work light either if you're wondering. I tried to put my vac on the dust port but it was too small, come to find out it's listed as 1 1/2" OD but is closer to 1 5/8". Rockler has an adapter for this, and again Delta has one in the works, but I'm not sure when it'll be available. The dust bag is ok, nothing special, I'd rather use a shop vac with a filter bag. The rear stock supports are movable (see pics below). Also below is a picture of the wheel that is on the guard, keeping it in contact with the stock thru-out the cut (there is no 1/2" gap as some have said online) Some folks online are also saying the saw moves side to side at full length about a 1/16" of an inch. I found it actually happens on the whole length of travel, BUT only if you force it left or right. If you just pull the saw toward you without pushing right or left it works great, so there is a bit of carefulness needed when using the saw. Let the tool do the work & don't man-handle it, it works great! In conclusion I think this saw is worthy of the Delta name. All my Delta woodworking tools are over 25 years old and still in service and I expect this tool to last just as long.
