Questions & Answers

Can the 4" exhaust line be connected to another 4" exhaust line to avoid installing a 2nd outside...

Can the 4" exhaust line be connected to another 4" exhaust line to avoid installing a 2nd outside vent? Would this unit be best to install in the tray ceiling over the shower our 130 squar foot bathroom. Also, while I would prefer an exhaust fan with lower sones and an adjustable humidity setting, it looks like the only product that meets that requirement has a 6" exhaust line. I suspect that probably would not be a good idea to connect that line using a Y connection to the existing 4" exhaust line from the bathroom closet.
Asked by: Wayne
You can hook two fans into one vent only if both bath fans have a damper to prevent backdraft. To have full flow when both are running you should use 6" vent. Most bath fans don't have damaper they rely on vent termination for damper.

Bad design when you have to remove the humidity sensing unit to get it to operate with a timer. The mounting brackets are very poor. I had to fabricate mounting brackets to mount the fan between 24" spaced roof trusses. Delta needs to hire a good engineer!!!!

It was installed approximately 3 months ago and was very quiet at first. After minimal use, the noise is so loud that it will now have to be replaced. Two different electricians have worked on it to minimize noise to no avail. NOT RECOMMENDED!

A switch should not have to be turned off to get from manual to automatic or vice versa. But it performs very nicely.
