Quiet compared to Broan
I was looking for a quiet fan. perfectly to be relax while shower, I bought it since the duct size is 3 inc. Make sure you have a pry bar to remove you existing fan from new construction! also with in cold weather run the fan 10 mins before shower so the duct get aclimate, since the duct get cold and will create condensation, specially when the duct run vertically to the roof (I learned this during my research). Finally I can listen music while shower!

Great fan! We just finished installing this in our wall because our old one was incredibly loud. And compared to the old one, this one is built so much better. The housing is better quality, wiring was super easy, and getting the fan into the housing was simple. The duct adapter works well too, we needed to buy a 3in to 4in adapter separately but it worked perfectly with this unit. It starts up silently and when it gets to full power you can just barely hear it. Love it so far!

Packaged nicely, came pretty fast. The fan itself is a compact size. The installation was pretty easy, I think a person with little experience can install it.the fan works great for a small bathroom, it is also not noisy at all compared to the old style noisy fans. I would definitely recommend to help keep the mold away!

Really quiet sometimes i don't hear it on. I ordered two of these bathroom exhaust fans on April 22, 2020 i replaced my old one that was too loud which i kinda regret because this one is too quiet and you can hear what's going on in the bathroom. But overall super quiet no complaints there. Installation was easy a pain in the rear removing the old unit. It was installed around June 2020. Now complaint is that once it starts the fan grinds on start up. Not even 4 months and it's not working properly. I like to take hot shower and the mirror in the bathroom still fogs up. Overall really quiet, doesn't force out the steam, and it's not starting up like it use to when installed. Will not recommend it.

My older unit was Loud and did not exhaust much so I was just looking for quiet one. I am regretting bit that I should upgraded CFM at the same time as well. This unit is quiet, but not too strong for the area that I had. (Maybe it was at the boarder line to go up next grade). Install was supposed to be simple but I had so much restriction, and being different design (location of exhaust and wires) from previous model, I battled a bit but product itself is all good. Damping mechanism (little tab) pin broke so easily when I tried to put it back together after came out. So I just had to modify a bit using tiny nails. At least it is functioning( Open/close).

Purchased 2 for a remodel & am very pleased with how quiet they are. Installation was a "Breez" :). The instructions were easy to read & understand. They are a bit large but they look good installed. The suction is very good & more than enough for our guest & master bathrooms. I will be adding power to my shed & I will be installing one in it for when I'm working in it & need better ventilation in the winter time & cold days.

It’s what I needed but could be better
I managed to install two of these to replace existing ancient fans in my condo. They are what I needed and I’m just glad they fit, but there are certainly improvements to be made. For one, unlike the bigger model, this humidity sensor is not adjustable. It is set at 60% plus or minus a 10% accuracy variance. It is fine now in winter but I am unsure if this will be a problem in the summer. Attaching the duct and electrical connections could be made much easier. The duct adaptor attaches to the outside, so you have to position it before getting the box installed, which is difficult in a retrofit with minimal space; it would be better to be able to pull the duct into the box slightly and then attach the adaptor, like the Panasonic EZ supposedly allows. Similar problem with the electrical connections: for the most part it has to be done outside and above the box, although you can take the second cover off the inside to do the actual wiring from there. Also, the cover is rather small and just barely fits over the hole in the drywall. Overall not bad but could be better.

We own 4 now and they're great. We leave them on all the time and they only turn on/ramp up when needed helping AC to clear humidity after a shower or when it happens to be high. You can switch it into High mode (yellow LED light) when you need to clear some bio fumes and back to normal (blue LED light) by a flip of the wall switch, small wait in between. The blue LED even serves as a pretty effective nightlight. A+

Although installation from room-side was a little awkward, the unit performs as expected in a small bathroom. I like the power indicator led behind the grill as a quick visual check to confirm the fan functionality. It is much quieter than the fan it replaced and cannot be heard in the adjoining bedroom.

I needed an efficient exhaust fan for a bathroom remodel and this fits the need perfectly. It's easy to install and relatively quiet while moving a lot of air out of the bathroom. It's a DC fan motor, so it has a slow spin-up but once it's reached full speed is still quiet and moves a lot of air. I have no way of quantifying the actual amount of air against the 70CFM specified value, but my fans (I've since installed another in the second bathroom) vent into an 8 foot long 3 inch diameter metal duct to the eave of the house and I've detected no degraded performance.

Not "silent," but very quiet. Love this fan! This is so much quieter than the basic Broan fan it replaced. Well worth the price. One thing to keep in mind: most of the quiet-rated fans require a 4-inch or larger exhaust duct. This is the only "quiet" fan I found that fits our existing 3-inch duct. Yay!

This fan is so much quieter than the 40 year old contractor grade unit it replaced - you hardly know that it's on. Installation wasn't too bad. The ceiling opening of the original NuTone fan was a bit smaller in one dimension and larger in another. It just sits on top of the drywall. I bridged the gaps with duct tape. The grille is generous enough to cover up any gaps and the side with the overlap does not cause airflow to be impeded in any way. The only downside of the installation was that the addition of a RACO cable connector.insulator in the little wiring access door interfered with getting it positioned properly so that you could align the mounting screw. It needed to be trimmed with a knife and 'dry fit' before climbing into the attic where it was not as convienent to make such adjustments.

I've put 2 of these in; they both work fine, about 12 db quieter than the units they replaced. Install was easy (at least, insofar as the product was concerned...the extremely tight space, filthy insulation, and short leads was another matter). I put the first one in the master bath about 3 months ago, and just installed the second in the guest bath. VERY quiet start up. Will probably buy a third one someday for the laundry room.

The purchase was for a retrofit in a small bathroom and after reading some of the reviews, I was not looking forward to it. But, the job went very smoothly and the fan works great. It increases speed slowly and is very quiet. I would not hesitate to purchase this fan again for new construction or retrofit project.

Perfect fit for a "less than stellar" contractor grade, noisy Nutone. Easy install, about an hour start to finish. Just kill the power, unhook the electric wires and exhaust duct, set aside, pull the old one out, secure the electric and exhaust back to the new one one and secure unit in place. Starts out slow and quiet, but revs up and then you can hear it, but not even close to the previous bathroom fan. I measured it at an average of 10 decibels quieter than my previous fan. Good price and I don't leave my bathroom with a buzz in my head anymore. Sometimes you forget it's on based on how much quieter it is. I plan on purchasing two more for the other bathrooms in my house.

With a 35cm f rated bathroom V70 cmf fits perfectly in a 7.5 in exhaust fan space. The installation is easy had to crawl on the ceiling, the first fan installation was the same size is the exhaust Port so I just use duct tape. The second fan installation easily fit on the the exhaust port. After installing spackling the fan wouldn't shut off for an hour or two after installation but after it dried it works fine. I like the blue light it lights up the bathroom nicely dehumidifier works better with the door closed and the exhaust fan is much quieter than stock fan with the house. I would recommend this product, and have had it for a month.

Fan works great. Much quieter than the previous fan. It is simple to use. Just leave the switch on(you will see the blue light letting you know it is ready to turn on). When the humidity in the bathroom hits approx 60% it automatically turns on and then turns off once the humidity is at or below 60%.. It eliminates the need to remember to turn it on or off. Very inexpensive fan and it works great.

Our original exhaust fans were so noisy (4 sones) they drowned out any running water. Slim 50's are the opposite, they're so quiet (1 sone) you don't hear the fans with running water. We ordered these online and got fast delivery. BTW: check any product specs for adequate CFM and especially for replacements look for matching exhaust port diameter (often 3 or 4-inch).

Best choice for a direct replacement, in-wall, bath fan! Pros: -Piece of cake to install from inside the bathroom, if you can replace a light fixture you can install this little guy. -Updated grill design is nice and modern (could be a touch thinner) -Worlds better than the horrible train wreck sound of our old fan -I like the slow ramp up it does when it turns on -Immediately gets all the moisture out of our bathroom when the doors are open (before it would take about a half hour without a fan) -Delta has given us awesome customer service in the past on other products, very happy their product was the best fit for our wall fan replacement in our 117 year old house Cons: -Only reason I docked a star: the 80CFM is .6 sones, the 50CFM is 1 sone, why is this 70CFM TWO SONES? =( I'm not saying 2 sones is terrible, it's definitely not, I just can't understand why this fan is 2-3 times louder than the fans above and below it. I'm sensitive to sounds and I would call this fan noticeable but not at all annoying, the sound won't stop me from using it, and I'm happy it's available to replace the dinosaur of a fan we had before. -This does a good job of working in our 8.5' x 7' x 9' ceiling bathroom. I did order the 80CFM originally but our old house wasn't easily accommodating to make the existing hole big enough, so we bumped down to this one. During my very scientific shower test it did take much longer for the mirrors to get foggy, they fogged completely by end of the shower, and we still had a couple condensation drips on our walls, which we were really hoping the fan would prevent. Once out of the shower, the fan was very slow at defogging the mirrors—watching the grass grow, slow. However, once I opened the doors on our jack and jill bathroom, the mirrors almost instantly cleared when before it would've taken quite a while without a fan. Typically we shower with the doors open anyway so B+ on really putting it to the test, A+ on the daily use scenario. Overall, this fan is hands down the go-to pick if you need to replace an old in-wall fan.

Well made exhaust fan. Relatively quiet with plenty of power. I installed this unit as a replacement for an existing wall mounted fan. Biggest gripe is the outlet is so close to the front edge of the housing that if you mount the housing flush with the drywall you have to cut a notch in the drywall to attach the vent pipe. Also a couple of pre punched holes in the side to facilitate mounting screws from the inside would be appreciated. No big deal I just made them myself but it would have been nice if they were already there. Lastly the grille though nice and clean looking sticks out too far. Would have and could have been made better if just a little flatter for a more flush appearance. None the less very pleased with this fan. Would definitely recommend to someone else.

                      Wall/Ceiling Fan Easy to Install
This fan unit was easy to install and the prefect size for the room. Runs quite and has a nice draw. Great product, excellent value.

High quality fan, maybe not 2 sones
I bought this fan because it was a great deal for a 2 sones fan, and also because the box dimensions were the same as the one I was replacing. I still had to install the new box (accessing it through the attic--ugh) which was a pain, but at least I didn't have to cut drywall! After wiring it up and everything, installing the fan into the box and putting the cover in place took about 30 seconds. Way easy. The fan is much quieter than my old 4 sones fan but I have a hard time believing it's 2 sones. I would guess 2.5, but then what do I know? It is a really nice, high quality fan though. We've been really pleased!
