Hello Dana, Thank you for your question! I apologize that you are experiencing a leak from your Delta Faucet Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With ShieldSpray Technology, model 19978Z-RB-DST; however, I am happy to help you. Our products have a Lifetime Limited Warranty that covers parts and finishes being free of defects in material and workmanship for the original owner/purchaser. I recommend replacing your Valve Assembly (RP50587) after flushing your unit to ensure that the unit itself and the water supply lines are clear from any debris. To flush the unit, we recommend the following steps. Start with the easy stuff: Remove your aerator, wand, or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed. If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is. Soaking this part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow. If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet. Next, check the supply lines for debris: Typically located under the cabinet are the shut-off valves to the kitchen faucet - please shut both the hot and cold water off at these valves before moving forward. You will need to disconnect the hot water supply line from the valve and place it into the bucket. Turn the faucet on – leaving the handle in the hot-water position. Allow the water to bleed through the line for at least 60 seconds. Once this has been completed with the hot water supply line – you may connect the supply line (hot) back to the valve. Next, you will want to disconnect the cold-water supply line from the valve and place it into the bucket. Turn the faucet on – leaving the handle in the cold-water position. Allow the water to bleed through the line for at least 60 seconds. Once this has been completed you may connect the cold supply line back to the valve. Flushing the unit before putting in the new RP50587: You will need a bucket and a towel. For best results, we recommend flushing the empty valve; which is where the Valve Assembly sits. Please cover the drain to your sink this way - no small parts get lost. Place the towel behind your faucet on the countertop in case of excess water while flushing. To do this, you will need to remove the handle, cap, bonnet, and old valve assembly. Now, you will want to place a bucket over the empty valve and the sink while also having a good grip on the bucket allowing it not to move. Please note that you may need a second pair of hands for this step. While holding the bucket – have someone turn the valves to the faucet back on. It does not matter which valve you start with; you need to do one valve at a time. For example: Turn the hot water valve on and flush the unit for at least 60 seconds, and then you may turn the hot water valve back off. Next, you would turn the cold-water valve on and flush the unit for at least 60 seconds and turn the valve back off. Please take a soft cloth and wipe off the puck where the RP50587 sits inside the valve once you have finished flushing the empty valve of your kitchen faucet. Now you may reassemble your faucet. Hello Jan! Thank you for your question regarding the Delta Faucet Model 19978Z-SS-DST! I am happy to help. Although designed to have the handle on the right side, this model can be installed with the handle facing left; however, this will also reverse the handle operation. Best regards, Antoine
I can only suggest that you check your Shut Off valves, and insure the Water supply lines aren't kinked in any way, insure that all packing materials are removed from the hoses, outside of these suggestions. I'm clueless, as I am not a licensed Plumber. Oh, and the Dishwasher works independently, whether your faucet is working or not.
Hello Brian! Thank you for contacting us at Delta Faucet! I will be happy to help! The sprayer and hose assembly part number is the RP62057 for this Leland pull-down kitchen faucet. There is no part number for an o-ring where the wand and hose meet. Please contact us directly if further assistance is needed at this time. Best Regards, Tim
Yes it can be installed without the deck plate if your countertop has only one hole for water supply tubes.
