    Answer This Question

A:  Mark, thank you for your question. The center guide will be centered. The width of the center guide is 2 and 3/4" so that is why the directions ask you to subtract 1 3/8in from the measurement. Horrible instructions & seals make door look cheap
Bought this to be frameless. Requires you to drill through the shower pan. The front threshold of my transoild pan is not wide enough to house the dam strip and door guide. The guide hangs over the threshold by about a half inch and I can see that turning into a ankle cutter. Next there are seals on sides and bottom of the door. Some are 3 flap some are 4 flap and it just looks cheap.

Great shower doors, good price and easy install
After remodeling my entire bathroom this past year with mostly Home Depot products (tile, thinnest, backboard and plumbing parts) I thought I'd merely hire a "contractor" to sell and install a shower door for me. I had two different contractors take measurements and explain the options and pricing. Neither was willing to break down the cost of materials vs labor for me. To install a basic 1/4 framed shower door (builder's grade) they wanted $1,800 to $2,200 to do the job. Obviously, that's a complete ripoff and I decided to order this shower door and do the install myself at a fraction of their quoted price for much lower quality doors. Installing this door was pretty straightforward, though I took my time to ensure I was doing things correctly. The directions were very concise and easy to comprehend, though there are a couple of misspellings in the booklet and it would have been nice to see actual photos of certain details of things like how the door side seals are configured (there are two styles and each set needs to be on the correct door). I'd also like to point out that Delta's customer support team was always very helpful. They are accessible, friendly and know what they're talking about so when in doubt, just give them a call. One thing to consider is that these doors are heavy. I don't really think relying on the provided, wimpy, screws and plastic tile anchors for securing the top track to opposing walls was sufficient – a fact confirmed by the support staff, mentioned above – and thus I purchased four 3-inch stainless steel pan-head screws to penetrate firmly into the studs behind the roughly one inch of backboard and thick marble tile. After installation of the door track I had my wife do pull-ups on it to test the strength and it passed, but anchoring to studs with the longer screws was a no-brainer. Don't go cheap on the caulk. Use the more expensive, 100-percent clear silicone GE caulk to seal off any holes you need to drill into the tile and sill to prevent moisture from getting behind the tile and into the framing area. My only gripe is that it would be good to supplement the instruction booklet with an online video showing the process of assembly. Again, this is a great shower door and beautiful. I'm glad I did not hire contractors to install what would have been a repeat of the builder's grade, framed, wimpy, doors that I tossed out at the demolition phase of my project. Why do that on a remodeling project if you're saving cash by doing it yourself anyway? DIY pays off if you take your time and learn the steps needed to do the job correctly. Enjoy your new shower doors!

          Design Flaws
Grab bars for opening and closing the doors are only on one side not both (Picture included). This would be fine if you could choose what side you preferred them on, but per installation instructions and water running between the panels onto the outside floor in erting the panels is not an option. The side most would open to turn on and enter the shower without getting drenched with cold water has nothing to grab onto to open the door. The clear rubber door stoppers need to be custom cut to fit.

Decent Quality for the price. Center of handles are a bit flimsy, spin around. Not sure if it was designed this way for a reason but overall pleased with this shower door.

              looks GREAT...works GREAT
After the installation was complete, we were quite pleased. It was a little bit of a struggle to get there. The first thing you must know....these shower doors were designed for a shower base that comes with a sill that is at least 3 11/16" wide. My sill was only about 2 1/2" wide on my shower base. I was able to make these doors work well. I just needed to make a few adjustments during the installation. The rollers on the inside door should match the doors, but they don't. The "caps" that hold the interior door handles on would be nicer if they has "divots " for your fingers to slide the door open and close.

Delta a premium brand that is synonymous with quality and reliability, which means the fit, finish and performance of this shower doors is second to none. This shower door set featuring crystal clear, tempered glass doors that are heavy and sturdy at 5/16 in. (8mm) thick, is very contemporary and classy which is the look I was going for. Black hardware coordinates well with the oil rubbed bronze finished fixtures in my bathroom. The doors and hardware are all of a high quality, and the 50-page installation guide is extremely detailed and well-written, with instructions for installation in an acrylic or tile enclosure. The frameless design means you see more of the shower enclosure and less metal frame. At only 48-inches wide, the doors are being installed in a small area to begin with, but the placement of the vertical handles on each door makes the opening to get in and out of the shower narrow so, depending on your size, the entry and egress may be something to consider before installing these doors. Prior to installing this sliding shower door, I had been using a curtain on a rod which made for a much larger opening. My wife and I are not large people, so the smaller opening is not a concern for us, but it may be for others. The glass doors are extremely heavy, at about 70lbs., each door, and should be the last thing to come out of the box. I’d recommend having an extra person to assist when it comes time to install the doors to the top track. At the time, I underestimated its importance, but when installing the doors, you need to pay attention to the placement of the shower head and ensure the handle holes are oriented towards the wall with the shower head. After installing the doors, I realized the error which was easily corrected by swapping the doors around, but it added time to the installation. The installation is not difficult, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s a piece of cake either, and a considerable amount of time is spent reading the installation guide, so plan for that. If you are relatively handy and have the proper tools, installation can be accomplished in a few hours. My wife and I like the look of the installed doors, and the luxurious spa-like feel we get every time we step in and out of the shower, so to us it was worth every bit the time and effort to install these doors

We're remodeling a small bathroom with a new shower and my wife wants to go to "modern" colors and selected the frameless Delta Paxos shower door in Matte Black for our new shower. I was initially hesitant on the mounting hardware color, but after seeing it, the black matte color looks great against the lighter color tile. The Paxo's shower door glass is impressively thick and will require two people to help safely install. The hardware, rollers and mounting components are high quality cast. My only issue has been with the door handles not tight and twisting, but that's minor to solve with silicone Instructions were clear and supplied seals work great. Overall, a very good quality frameless shower door that slides, seals and looks great!
