It depends on how you plan on using DensShield Tile Backer. For Walls and Ceilings on a wood frame (galvanized roofing nail), use either a 38mm or a 45mm. For Walls and Ceilings on a wood frame (buglehead), use a 32mm or a 41mm. For Walls and Ceilings on a steel frame (buglehead), a 32mm. Lastly for floors (either galvanized or buglehead), use a 32mm on 1/2" thick board.
The 1/2" is not fire rated.
