AnswersI would think so. It really depends on the bulbs used. I used 60W equivalent LED bulbs and it lights up my walk-in closet pretty well. I would think you can even use 100W equivalent LED bulbs to light it up even more.

DO NOT BUT THIS!!!!
I bought these for a brand new house I built, and moved into in January and they were installed by an electrician and had 3 60 watt bulbs in them (per instructions). I liked the look of them and they were a good price. I put these lights in all the closets, bathrooms and laundry room. But around April we started smelling a weird fish like smell. The smell came and went through the next few months. We has our pipes checked, made sure our laundry didn't smell and still couldn't figure out what it was.
We decided to replace the light bulbs thinking it was some coding on there. When we took the glass piece off the smell was horrendous!!! Every screw was rusted out and looked 100 years old and rust was crumbling into the glass piece!
We called our local Home Depot and they were great to take care of us (thank goodness) even though they no longer have these in their system. But it took all day to take them down, replace them and reinstall every single light. Save yourself the hassle and avoid these all together!

A decent overhead light
I started by replacing my fly-catcher bedroom lights with 13" LED lights with the same look as this light. The light from the LED units was superb - warm, even and very bright, all of which I love. However, after about six months, the drivers failed on them, and they no longer worked. SO I needed a replacement. As I live in one of the coldest climates in the country, I realized that the 'inefficient' incandescent setup would work fine - if we need light, we generally could use the surplus heat they generate as well, so nothing's really wasted. So we bought this one to match the light output of the LED units. It almost does that, but it's not as even or quite as warm. The real trick for this is the installation. Unlike a lot of these type units, it doesn't hang from the central spindle - the weight is borne by the two screws that need to go through the insulated ceiling plate - a real pain. But once up, it's fine.

Install Tip
The light was ok but the scews to attach the base to the mount were too short. The insulation thickness made it diffucult and I ended up scuffing my ceiling. Do yourself a huge favor and buy #8-32 stainless steel screw. They should be round combo head, to fit through and work with the keyhole, and at least 1.5” long (it comes with 1.25” screws) or a little more even. I also recomend poking a hole through the insulation at the keyholes to make it easier to install.
