Taylor 3-Light Old Satin Brass Vanity Light

I obtained this light to replace a 30 year old "builder's basic" light in our guest bath as part of preparing our house for sale. I had always meant to replace the hardware and flooring in that bathroom with an upgrade from what the builder put in in 1979, but somehow, never got a round to it. Getting the house ready for sale put the pressure on to do something to make it saleable. This vanity light is an appropriate match for several decorating styles. Even some modern/industrial styles. This particular light is in old satin brass finish but other finishes are available in this line. And, whereas I tend to like antique brass, this old satin brass finish was a suitable match for the other hardware that will be going into in this particular bathroom. The Designers Fountain Taylor light is not comparatively inexpensive. But then again, one gets what one pays for. Which is abundantly evident in the quality of this product. This light is not cheaply made with thin metal and weak joints like many lower priced lights I've looked at. It is comparatively well made and quite sturdy. It has a fine, and durable finish. Everything one needs for virtually any installation is included with the light. The mounting hardware allows for various options.. They even included a couple of extra fasteners! Do yourself a favor and close the sink drain or put something down below the light that can catch dropped fasteners when installing a light like this. I failed to close the sink drain and, sure enough, dropped one of the round fasteners and down it went. The extra came in hand to finish the job. And then I pulled the sink trap to recover the dropped knob. When I installed an different light outdoors, I also dropped one of those round fasteners (those things are hard to hang onto!) and it bounced off the cement and rolled into some bark mulch, never to be seen again. You'd think I'd learn. ;-( The Designers Fountain Taylor units accept standard, medium base bulbs, which I prefer over proprietary LED units where the bulbs are not replaceable. I chose Edison style LED bulbs from the Home Depot stock at my local store to add a "flavor" to the light. The standard light base also allows you to use various sizes, shapes and outputs of bulbs so that you can adjust both the styling and the light output to just right for the location. And, you can use dimmable bulbs that, combined with an appropriate dimmer switch, allow for light output adjustment through a range for various needs. Installed in the down position as I did, leaves the area above the light dark and directs all light downwards (see last picture below). I may rotate the light unit up - it can be installed in either direction - to see if I like reflected light from the ceiling better for overall lighting purposes in that small bathroom. Overall, I'm very pleased with this light.

This vanity lamp has a beautiful, antique brass satin finish which I think would match any vanity, especially since most have brass hardware.  It has classy looks, boasts solid, all metal construction, and it beautifully lights up the room with three bright bulbs.  It takes a regular size bulb, so you have the option of the bulb you choose.  I don't see its use as limited to a bathroom at all.  I think that it would look gorgeous over a beautiful painting, in a hallway, foyer, etc...  It looks like you can hang it with the bulbs standing up, or hanging down, you decide; it's nice to have that option.  It is also unique; I have never seen one like it before.  I like unique as I don't want a light that I have already seen hundreds of times before.  I have no regrets, think that I made a great find.

This vanity light is gorgeous! I love the color, the glass shapes, and the quality materials. It all looks so high-end. It's simple, sturdy, and easy to install. I'm doing my bathroom renovation with modern gold/brass accents. This looks amazing!! It's got an antique vibe with a modern feel. It's well-made, the materials feel very expensive. It's a solid design and I love the glass bulb elements. It comes with everything you need, I also love that it comes with some extra pieces, because it's pretty easy to drop the little knobs and balls while installing it. It's very much multi-dimensional, it could easily go well in a rustic cabin all the way to a glam powder room. This makes a beautiful finish to any type of renovation you're doing. If you're looking for something beautiful and timeless, this is it!
